The welcome we received was very warm from our host and the locals. The beer was ok, but the food was average and not cheap.

“Lovely traditional pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

I visited the pub during a weekend away, and found it a lovely traditional pub, with friendly and unobtrusive service. Fantastic breadth of beers and ciders on offer, too. Solid food, nothing exciting, but cooked freshly and all tasted great. Our daughter loved the kids menu, which is fairly priced.

“A little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Pre booked a lunch for 15 people. Due to lack of mobile signal messages from the landlady did not get to me and so she was stuck trying to cater for us on a limited store cupboard and at shorter notice. What a star though! We all had splendid lunches, in a warm room with very good cask ales and friendly landlord and lady.
Some of the group are already talking about going back for the beer festival.
If you like a proper pub with locals, good beer and food this is your place.

“Happisburgh deserves better”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Called in for a drink and something to eat. Couldn't get served. The barperson seemed to have no idea what she was doing. Unpleasant atmosphere. Just goes to show how low pubs can sink when there is no competition. Happisburgh deserves better.

“Suprisingly...I would go back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

My husband and I stayed over at the Hill House for one night in the Signal Box. What a quirkey little room this was. An old railway signal box in the back garden of the pub, with views out to the sea, but it was disgustingly filthy. Luckily the staff and the locals in the pub were really friendly. We had a good meal, plenty of drink and a really good night. The atmosphere in the pub was really welcoming and everyone spoke. I would definately go back for a drink and a meal but I wouldnt stay overnight again. We refer to the signal box as 'The Hills have Eyes' hotel.
