“Beautiful house and surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Stayed for one night, arriving at 3pm we were shown to our room, a nice sized room with a separate bathroom down the corridor. Bedroom and Bathroom were both beautifully designed, very comfortable and had everything you could want.
The house is lovely, as is the grounds. I can imagine staying here in summer would be amazing. The sun rises at the back of the house so if you get up early you can see the sun rise over the fields, gorgeous! There is a pond in the front with ducks too.
This is a rural location, the local village is a 15min walk away, the route we walked took us past an area where deer are kept.
However for a drink or bite to eat you will have to drive somewhere, I would recommend The White Horse Inn in Eye (which has a huge log fire).
Due to the rural location, as you can imagine you get peace and quiet at night, this is the perfect place if you need a quiets night sleep.
Breakfast was tasty, with a good selection; fresh coffee, fruit salad, yoghurts, and of course full english of your choice as it's all made to order.
Our hostess was very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful, picturesque surroundings. Hostess was 100% friendly, welcoming, thought of everything down to the little quirky details throughout.
Made my partner and I feel at home instantly, made a giant pot of tea on arrival and the hospitality continued until we sadly departed. Fully recommend this small, perfect retreat and the breakfast is something to die for!

My partner and I stayed here for three nights. On our arrival we were served tea and enjoyed the stillness of the garden. The room was to a lovely standard, with pilloes and duvet I melted into, lovely quality!
Had a great range to choose from at breakfast every morning, with free range eggs.
Angie was very helpful when we asked her advice and suggestions of areas to visit.
We really enjoyed our stay here, and would consider visiting again if we were to explore more of Norfolk or Suffolk.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting East Anglia. It was everything we wanted and more - old with bags of character yet beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Angie welcomed us with tea and cakes. Our bedroom (the yellow room) had it's own bathroom a few steps along the landing. This was not a problem as a curtain could be pulled across the landing giving complete privacy.
Set in open countryside the only noise as we fell asleep was the sound of the wind in the trees. Breakfasts were excellent with Angie being the perfect hostess. There are also plenty of places for dinner within 10 minutes drive. We would have no hesitation in recommending Abbey Farm to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

I booked Abbey Farm for a short break of three nights having found it by chance through Last Minute. It looked like the sort of place that would be away from noise and in the middle of nowhere as I like it and after reading other reviews, I thought it sounded idyllic. It is. So much so that the sat nav stops you a bit too early down the road, so keep driving and you will find it about 400metres further on.
With only two rooms, it is the perfect place to get a good nights sleep before setting out for a day of adventure in the beautiful Norfolk and Suffolk countryside. We had the bedroom with a separate bathroom just down the hall but there is a curtain you can pull across to give privacy to your own half of the house. The room was very comfy, the memory foam mattress definitely let us sleep very well and it also had tea and coffee making facilities should you need them.
On arrival we were greeted by Angie who made us tea which we had out in the garden. The breakfast is superb, cereals, fruit and yoghurts were always available, followed by your choice off the menu, which included a very generous Full English! So generous in fact that we did not need to eat during the day and did not eat until 9pm one of the days and 8pm the other! The B & B is about five minutes away from Diss town centre, where there are some lovely places to eat, particularly Spice Cottage (which I am also reviewing and was mentioned in the B & B folder of local attractions and eateries). We also ate at the Beaconsfield Arms in Occold, which was about fifteen minutes away.

The location is very central and we went to many parts of Norfolk and Suffolk from Abbey Farm and finished off by catching the seal boat trip from Morston Quay (about an hour and a half drive from Diss) and driving along the coast road home. We did not come back until around 10pm one night, Angie did not see a lot of us, but we were given a key just in case we came back and they were out.

If you want somewhere that is a bit special and you are looked after wonderfully, then Abbey Farm is for you.

This is just a wonderful place to stay. The 500 year old property is unique and charming. The decor is tasteful and sophisticated and every modern convenience is available. The location is beautiful and all this is topped by Angie the wonderful hostess who is just a delight. Nothing is too much trouble from tea and cake on the lawn on arrival to providing extra facilities for family who called in to see us. Five star hotels don't achieve th special feel of this place.

We arrived on a chilly May day and were shown to our very comfortable stylish room which was lovely and warm. The room was clean, the bedding crisp and inviting. Tea & coffee making equipment was provided. The bathroom was down the corridor but not shared, to us this wasn't a problem and really should not stop you staying at this superb B&B. Our hostess offered us tea and cake which was lovely. We slept well and the breakfast was delicious. I suppose the only downside is people with mobility problems would find the stairs challenging.
