“Cracking night out.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2014

Went here for a meal with relatives & what a fantastic surprise. Managed to book the last table on the Friday night for 6 (book early though) turned up & received a very warm welcome.

Drinks prices very good indeed. Food was excellent at a very reasonable price & the portion sizes were massive......fish & chips exceptional & the cheese board out of this world.

We were also very fortunate to benefit from the live entertainment that night playing hits from the 60s to present day, it was enjoyed by all.

All in all a fantastic night out & would thoroughly recommend anyone in the area to visit this little gem.

“Fab food and people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2014

Stayed at redworth hall and ate here on Saturday night. Fantastic food, portions were huge, staff lovely, best chips I've ever eaten. Very good value for money.

“FIRST TIME, FIRST RATE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

Rolled up without a reservation on a Monday evening and thought we would try the Early Bird offer. The place was not too busy to begin with but the customers kept trickling in. I had a Chicken, mushroom and garlic pie (in a delightful sauce) contained in a herby crusty pastry case, accompanied with to-die-for chunky chips, mushy peas and salad. My wife chose their (hanging over the side of the plate) haddock and chips again mushy peas and salad. The portions were just too much for us to finish, so much so that we could only manage a dessert between the two of us. I helped wash my pie down with two of their (well kept) cask ales. Everything was freshly made and the flavours confirmed that. We will definitely return, but only after we've trained our stomachs to conquer the portions on offer.

“Couldn't get a table”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Really wanted to eat here, buzzing atmosphere and the food looked fab. Awarding 4 stars in the hope I will get a table next time I am in the area, please open later on a Sunday, nowhere in the area to eat on Sunday nights

“Good food and great portions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

Good food and selection, good size portions which are very filling - haven't been disappointed yet. Reasonable price given the portion sizes. Would recommend. Nice atmosphere too. Good rural feel.
