This is quite an old review, we went last year, I just haven't got round to reviewing it until now.
Lovely setting for a resort in a beautiful location. The village of Koutouloufari is just stunning. Cobbled streets, lovely shops, huge range of restaurants. Glorious. If you want more lively activities head down the hill and after a 10 minute walk you are at the beach with all sorts of fun activities.
Ok, so that's the good bit. On arrival we given our key and pointed in the direction of our studio. The studios are awful. Ours was filthy, mouldy and damaged. When we pointed out the damage we were advised that some Dutch lads had been fighting and smashed the door in. That's ok then, we won't bother repairing the damage, they did flick a mop round though. The studio was very small and basic. How they can say that it's self catering is beyond me. There was a cooker which in time did heat up a bit. We also had a spoon and a couple of plates. That was it.
The staff are without question the rudest I have ever encountered and reading through reviews I am heartened that it's not just us. The woman who seems to do everything including glaring, refusing to serve drinks and snapping at people is the same person who is cited elsewhere as having other unpleasant habits. So rude! Yanis was also very rude, here's an example:-
initially our apartment was cleaned every day, we were there for a fortnight and during the holiday the cleaning became less regular. During the second week we went about 4 days without any cleaning and of course this meant 4 days without toilet roll replenishment. We could have gone out and bought some, but each day we hoped that the room would have been cleaned. On one day we returned from a day out to find that the room hadn't been cleaned and sadly this meant that our bathmat, which was actually a towel torn in half was still sodden due to a rather erratic shower. I made the critical mistake of putting it outside to dry in the sunshine. An error! Yanis and the woman later approached us and demanded to know why we had put the bathmat out. When I replied that it was to dry it as it would never have dried in the bathroom, I was told that it wasn't wet! Quite why I would spend my holiday putting out dry bathmats to dry I'm not quite sure. They were furious with me. With hindsight perhaps this wasn't the best time to point out that the room hadn't been cleaned for 4 days and we were perilously short of toilet paper. We were told that had we booked a bigger apartment then we could have expected better cleaning and sufficient toilet rolls. Don't recall reading that in the brochure but it was the typical of the way in which guests seemed to be being treated.
Another couple who were on their honeymoon had been told that they could expect a nice complimentary bottle of something to celebrate their wedding. Imagine their surprise when the woman turned up at their door with a nice cold bottle of water!! Their rudeness made for great hilarity amongst the few Brits staying at this time, it was almost worth putting up with it.
So, would I recommend this place? No, sadly I wouldn't which is a shame as it's in a beautiful location. I would recommend the resort, it really is glorious but there are other hotels/apartments to choose from. I would actually go a step further, whatever you do, do not book this resort. The accommodation is very basic, it doesn't offer self catering facilities and never in my whole life have I experienced such rude people. Everything was too much trouble. It seemed that everyone was getting the same treatment. Truly shocking. Don't go!!
The staff may have changed of course as this is an old review. But, If you arrive and there is a woman with long black hair squeezed into clothes a couple of sizes too small, glaring at you, brandishing a key to hurl in your direction, be afraid, be very afraid, it's HER!!
