Just got back from a very relaxing stay at Annabelle Village. We stayed from 6th June till 19th June and the weather was very hot. The area that the Hotel is in, is about a mile or two walk from Hersonissos main town and is just a bay with lots of different (and luxurious) all inclusive hotels. Annabelle and all the others are built on a hill so you go in at the top main foyer and all the rooms are in two storey whitewashed buildings throughout the complex – there are lots of steps so be prepared. The room was lovely and really clean – a great big king size bed, a single bed in an alcove and a pull out single chair bed which was also comfortable. There are lots of fluffy white towels in the bathroom which are changed whenever you put them in the bath for the maid who comes in daily to make the bed and empty the bins – you won’t need to take any from home as upon your arrival you also receive four cards which you exchange for yellow beach towels at a hut behind the beach bar and these can also be changed as often as you wish. You also get a safe key for access to the integral safe that is in one of your cupboards which we thought was very good as the rep on the way in mentioned that in a lot of places the safes had to be paid for separately. The room opens with a key card which is embedded with the dates of your stay and automatically locks you out at 12 mid-day on the day of your departure unless you have extended your room and had the key updated. We were a family of 4 with two children aged 10 and 13 and they absolutely loved it here (especially the fact that they could get drinks and ice creams whenever they wanted by themselves.)
The food was on the whole very good. The fresh sardines and fish, calamari etc was particularly good. It’s difficult not to pile a bit of everything on your plate at once but we knew if we did that, that every meal would become the same so made a purposeful choice to have Italian one night, Greek another etc although this didn’t stop our son from having at least three deserts every day. The drinks are great! The local beer is Mythos and is very nice, the wine is not as good but better after the first glass! The beer and wine is available to pour yourself in the restaurant along with many juices, fizzy drinks and water –hot and cold. It is well worth being all inclusive as if you are half board the price for a coffee or tropical cocktail is 6 euros a piece so you can see how easily that would mount up in a day. The cocktails; Mohita and Kir Royal are the best, the gin and quite a few other spirits are branded – Gordons gin etc so well worth the money.
You get a small bottle of water in your room upon arrival and you can order water from any of the bars or get jugs of it in the restaurant during your meal. We often bought large bottles from the onsite shop and distributed it to smaller ones for the night time. There is a small fridge in the room which is great for water and after-sun! We were told by our rep on the coach not to drink the water because of high mineral content which would upset your tummy – this is rubbish and it is this water filtered through a cooler which you get when you order it anyway.
When we arrived it was quite busy and it was the usual struggle to find a sun-bed without a towel occupant – in the end you just have to do the same and bung some of your stuff out onto a sun-bed or you won’t get one when it is busy. However the second week we were there practically everyone went home and we had a choice of 10 sun-beds each at both pools and the beach!
The staff at all the bars are amazingly hard working, they never stop and they are always busy – they are fast too so you never had long to wait for drink and they were happy to teach us new Greek words to add to our small vocabulary.
The animation team are lovely, the sketches that they do are very funny and they really try to get everyone up on the dance floor or to join in the games without being pushy so hats off to Erika, Mario, Maria, Esther, Marco, Eraleo, Sergei, Micky, Maya and their apprentice Julio - my children loved them and Mario was kind enough to indulge my partner in his fondness for music and find and download a real oldie by Trans X (which we then had to dance to – thanks for that!).
There is a Greek night every week where some outside dancers come in to show off their dancing skills and everyone is encouraged to join in with the ‘zorba’ dance which is good fun and ends up on stage at the end.
If you want a beach which is not rocky then turn right at the beach bar and keep walking until you get to a small baby palm tree at the bottom of The Aldemar Hotel turn right here and walk through the resort to the top where you come out at the gates to their amphitheatre, once there turn right again, then left and head down towards the beach. The next landmark is the Saradari Seafood restaurant, turn left down towards this then you are on the beach road, first the nudist beach then keep going slightly further and you hit a lovely sandy beach with steep steps down onto it which has beach chairs and umbrellas for hire and a small shack selling beer and ice cream – if you carry on a little further there is another beach with showers so you can get the stones off your feet more easily – both beaches are lovely with no rocks and lots of beautiful fish swimming around you feet. If you continue further you will hit the first part of Hersonnissos town which has a few bars and restaurants along the sea front, keep going to the port and the main part of the town and majority of the shops are ahead – very busy! For the best bargains shop around as it gets cheaper the further you go on for example sunglasses are 8 euros in one place but 5 euros in another. This is the first time I have been back to Greece since they changed to the euro and I have to say I found everything quite expensive – not many bargains to be had like in the old days. The food was sometimes ridiculously expensive with a baguette costing 5 euros which you could get in the uk for £1.85 however it is well worth visiting the Town and we had a great shopping trip there!
All in all a great ‘chillin’ holiday made all the more enjoyable by the lovely staff (most of which have been there for years). Thanks Hotel Annabelle!

This holiday met all our expectations (50 somethings)with regards to, location, accomodation, catering, staff services and value for money. The all inclusive package was not disappointing with a very good selection of dishes for each meal based on typically Cretian dishes. The staff were very friendly and the top manager was seen twice in one week walking round the pool and beach areas with his department managers chatting with guests and clearing plates meeting anyones idea of customer relations. The outdoor Taverna was great for lunch time snacks and if you wanted more choice it was only a 2 minute walk up to the main resteraunt.Beach was well stocked with sun beds , never had a problem finding one but then again we are early risers.Whilst there were plenty of children/toddlers they as expected enjoyed the pool area whislt the beach was quieter. The animation team were great and not pushy just encouraging, which worked with most.Nice 1 hour walks either direction from the Village which opens out strainght onto the beach path.Would go again and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher level than ground floor. Most blocks are two storey.

We stayed for 2 wks at the Annabelle Village from 29/5/12, The accomodation was first class...the bedroom was very big and had more hanging and cupboard space than we have had in any hotel before, Bathroom also a good size, and well equipped with complimentary toiletries. Maid service was excellent and this is the first time that we had fresh flowers in our room throughout our stay! The whole complex was spotless and well laid out with lots of greenery and flowers planted throughout. It as not a problem for us, but, there are a lot of steps to get from the beach up to main restaurant and bar. The food was excellent...plenty of choice, and, something which is rare in buffet style rerstaurants, nice and hot! We availed of the Italian a la carte menu in the Taverna and really enjoyed it. The animation team were superb, they worked so hard and were always very friendly without being annoying. They should be congratulated on the effort they put into the evening entertainment. Last, but not least, the staff in the bar, pool bar and restaurant were marvellous and highly professional . We have been on a lot of AI holidays, and without a doubt this was the best yet.

Just got back from a weeks holiday in annabelle village.
Lovely hotel and very friendly helpfull staff.
Our room was nice had our own small terrace to sit out on, bed was comfy. Bathroom clean. Overall the room was good.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, we did however ask for a kettle and it was brought to our room the next day.
There is a fridge in the room for your own drinks. There is a small shop on site which stocks drinks and other items, handy shop to have.
There is a bigger supermarket a short walk up the road.
The food was always very good and a lot of choice on the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We started our holiday half board so we bought our lunch from the restaurant near the beach food was fantastic. We then changed to all enclusive which was charged at 20 euros each per day. This was a good option to have and worked better for us.
Both pools were great, added bonus of beds on the beach. The only let down is the rocks going into the sea if you want to swim.
The animation team were always friendly and trying to get people to join in the many activities to join during the day and evening.
It is approx 25 min walk in to heronnosis depending how fast you walk.
There is not much else to do around the hotel itself no where to walk to.
We had a great holiday and would stay again.

We have just returned from a weeks all inclusive holiday at Annabelle Viilage and although the hotel is definitely not, by UK/US standards, a 5* as listed we definitely had a really good time.

There are several things that made our stay particularly enjoyable, firstly the staff were really friendly and very helpful (we noted that the hotel manager popped up everywhere helping staff and clients out all day long), the animation team were great (we didn't join in much but they chatted to us and were incredibly friendly and full of energy) and the hotel was very, very clean. The food was good (but not great) but NO UPSET STOMACHS, a really bonus! I enjoyed having salads and fruit everyday but I got a little bored with the similar buffet style meals every evening (the a la carte option wasn't available when we were there).
We avoided the big restaurant at lunch time and opted for the very basic choice of salad and snacks outside at the taverna, which suited us just fine.
The free packup for the trip home because we missed lunch was a nice touch.

The hotel had visitors from all over Europe, Russia and Israel, so some Brits but lots of other nationalities too.

Location wise, it was fine for us. We didn't move much as we wanted a total rest but one morning we walked the mile or so into Hersonissos, which I wouldn't recommend as it Hersonissos is a bit of a dump and not the quaint fishing village I had expected!

The only a few small gripes: As I mentioned the food in the main restaurant is a little boring, but it's a good buffet offering compared to other places I have stayed at! As we left the hotel it got very busy so sunbeds become a bit of an issue, although there was quite a lot of space around the pools and the beach (the hotel did keep producing more beds though to keep up with demand) and i can't honestly think of anything else.

All round a very enjoyable holiday, a big thank you to all of the staff at Annabelle Village.

Room Tip: There are lots of steps around this hotel so if you have trouble climbing beware.
