“Definately not a 5 star dont be fooled just an ok hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Booked this as a special holiday with my brother and his wife who were celebrating their 40th Anniversary. It really wasnt that and we agreed it was average.
Stayed 2weeks in September and had 3 rooms before actually emptying our suitcases, rooms were very clean and well maintained by the staff with towels changed daily. Take note there are annexes down the road that most people start off in unless you complain so make sure with your agent you have booked a room in the main block.
Certainly not a 5 star as promoted with most companies with very few facilities which we were told was due to the hotel being in the middle of Hersonissos.
The hotel is surrounded by derelict and run down buildings and of course you dont get far without the scavenging cats and dogs.
Note if you have children there are NO activities or kids club on this site.
Meals were ok but not to a 5 star standard with limited choice and just the one dining room for all meals. All inclusive drink choice was poor and what a stupid time for last orders at 11pm after that drinks to be paid for and you were not allowed to have more than one drink on the table per person dark ages or what!!
No snacks in afternoon apart from a piece of cake that you had to ask for behind the bar.
Entertainment was mediocre and very local and apart from the Greek night that was well worth the extra euros but having been in 5 star Greek hotels before this type of entertainment and buffet was always included.
As i said the hotel is very central to shops and local transport so no problem getting around
The staff and management were helpful at all times but i think the owners really need to update this place if it is to be classed as a 5 star.
The tour operators who check out this hotel must take much blame for the booking system that puts people in the annex
Enjoyed the hol but would we return no way hos'e there are far better hotels in Crete thankyou

Room Tip: Make sure you have written confirmation of a room in main block or you WILL be in the annex down the...

spent a week at this hotel from 20th oct-27th oct 2012.very nice clean hotel beds and towels changed daily. we found the staff all very nice and helpfull and the waitress ( did`t know her name was lovely!as the hotel was a 5 star i thought the food could have been better (it was ok) also there was no snacks as i call snacks i;e to have a small piece of cake in the afternoon you had to ask!!and there was no entertainment what so ever the week we were there.weather this was due to it being the last week plus a few days for the end of the season.the hotel was very close to the beach and also the harbour, about 10 -15 minutes walk to the main street for shoping and the bus stop, we caught the bus into the irakio which was very easy to do,did`nt go on any trips as once again only 3 were available due to the lateness of season , all in all a nice holiday but i would`nt say 5star 4star at best.

This was a first for for myself and partner and we could not praise ALL the staff enough. The rooms were cleaned everyday and linen changed. The Bar staff were all first class at times having to deal with customers wanting to stock pile drinks working in a hotel myself i understood totally when the bar staff tried to explain that they should wait until drinks are finished before ordering more some people donot understand it is the responsibility of bar staff if someone over indulges then has an accident. Lefteris put in so much effort too make sure we enjoyed our stay always willing to help nothing was tomuch bother. Ms Fotini was always on hand and willing to get help out with any problems. We are hoping to return next year.

I stayed in this hotel with my partner and our on age 14 for the very last week of the season, and my family and I were the last guests to leave the hotel at 2.20pm! We had booked one UPGRADED room for us to share.
I really have no idea what this hotel offers in the way of entertainment during the peak season, but during our stay there was none, and that was fine, often these hotels offer 3rd rate singers etc, so thank God we did not have to suffer such rubbish, so a plus for my family.
THE HOTEL----not 4 star by any means, 3 star more likely, but our room was spotlessly clean as was the ensuite bathroom. Bed linen changed every other day, fresh towels, and plenty of them changed daily. Plenty of hot water, no need to wait inbetween us showering, one after the other. Bedroom spacious, somewhat dated, but cleanliness we could not fault. We all found the beds comfortable, and when requesting extra pillows these were provided straight away without any fuss.Plenty of storage space for hanging clothes, and drawers. Safe box provided in room for a few euros. Fridge which was big enough to tore drinks and food we had bought to take with us for the odd packed lunch. Balcony, always cleaned when the room was cleaned, furnished with director style chairs and a table. SEA VIEW-----Yes we could see the sea as only a few minutes walk away, but there was also a derelict building plot, and a couple of scruffy buildings, but this was not unusual to anywhere in Crete.
THE FOOD------A difficult area to review as it really is individual taste, no pun intended. For us the food was absolutley OK, BREAKFAST----choices-----cereals, different fresh breads, very nice. Jams. Greek yogurt, delicious, plain or with fruit. Honey cake, amazing!! just delicious, selection of pastries. Hot food consisted of fried eggs, potatoes sliced and fried, bacon....NOT bacon and sausages as we have in the UK, this is the Greek version. Cold sliced meats and cheese. Tea, Coffee, fruit juices. All self service. Enough food to get you off to a good start for the day. LUNCH----No idea, never ate in the hotel, even though all inclusive we were out for the day. AFTERNOON TEA and CAKES----Same, always out. DINNER----Always a soup, but clear soup, again fresh breads and rolls. Always 2 types of pasta and a choice of 2 sauces. Salad selection, always fresh. Feta cheese. Several hot dishes to try, Risotto, a fish dish, Pizza, and 4 or 5 hot dishes which were Greek. Potatoes cooked various ways or fries, vegetables. Desserts, Baklava, delicious, sweet cakes, ice cream, fresh fruit selection and cheese. Drinks wine and soft drinks. So there you have it, not English food. If you want English food this hotel does not serve it. You would have to be very fussy or not like to try new things to not find something that would suit. My teenage son had no problems and enjoyed the idea of trying lots of different things each night.
BAR AREA BY THE POOL---is OK, never used the pool, water too cold, not heated, and although very warm end of October the pool was too cold. We sat outside in this area with fellow guests in the evening, plenty of comfortable seats and tables. DRINKS-----if all inclusive alcoholic drinks are local drinks, this includes wine, vodka, brandy, lager, maybe gin, I'm not sure but NOT WHISKEY!!! Do check with your tour operator beforehand if this is important to you. Our tour operator explained all of this to us but it was not an area that was important. Alcoholic drinks are not of the same standard as here in the UK. My partner is a real ale fan, but he said the lager is light as you would expect on the continent and that the brandy slipped down OK. Soft drinks were pleasant. The bar closes at 11pm ON THE DOT for all inclusive drinks, you can buy drinks until MIdnight. The Barman needed to smile a bit, but maybe it was the end of season and he was fed up smiling!
STAFF---Pleasant and helpful.
OVERALL---For 3 adults this holiday cost just shy of £1450 for 3 adults, taking into account flights, taxes, insurance, return railway tickets, room upgrade, all included in the above cost we thought it was a fair price to pay for all inclusive. We thought that realistically the hotel should be a 3*, but saying that we enjoyed ourselves. Would I return to this hotel? No, because I would stay on the south side of the island and see a different part.

Room Tip: Do not choose round the house room when booking, go for an upgrade this is not much extra but worth...

I was a guest at this hotel in September. The hotel is clean with spacious rooms, balcony and adequate storage space. Bedsheets and towels are replaced daily. The restaurant personnel is friendly, thanks to (Ana, Lefteris. Pedro, and staff). The food is good and nicely laid out.
The general manger Mrs. Fotini is always available, pleasant, and willing to help with any needs.
I will recommend this hotel to all my friends and I intent to go back again next year.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine.

First the good points, friendly, helpful staff, decent sized rooms and a good location.Food is Ok but nothing more.
On the down side there was no organised entertainment programme(admittedly it was late in the season although the hotel seemed pretty full),the range of AI drinks is limited,no whisky for example and watch out for those noisy Israel guest who want to party in their rooms till early morning.rooms now looking pretty dated and in need of an upgrade.
If you book this hotel do not expect 5 star standards.

This hotel is very, very clean. Rooms are spacious with ample storage and cleaned thoroughly every day. Food very good with wide variety every day. Restaurant staff very friendly, especially Anna who works at the far end near the chefs grill area.

Katarina who works at the quiet pool bar is lovely, she brings melon to you each day which is very refreshing!!

BBQ night was fab and definitely worth paying extra for.

All the staff are really lovely but make sure you take note of the managers shoes!!!!

Enjoy!!!
