“Quaint!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Kalimpong is one of those forgotten old places which is thankfully off the usual tourist radar. Kalimpong park hotel reminds you of a typical English bed and breakfast place. Quaint is the only word which comes to mind. It's old world, with wooden cane furniture and deer trophies on the walls from years of yore.
It is a fair (uphill) walk from the main market via a narrow road. Carry a torch if you venture out in the evening, coz it tends to get dark quickly. The hotel itself is well run, nice cute bar, a small dining area and bespoke dinners if you are on MAP plan.
The beauty of Kalimpong and the Park hotel is that not much happens around here, and you can let lazy afternoons envelope you while you get engrossed in a good book.
Definitely worth a trip. Don't forget to pick up a bottle of red hot chilly pickle from the market. Locals call it 'dalle' (worth every penny).

Room Tip: The rooms aren't great in themselves and you may like to have a look yourself so check out the v...

The hotel is situated a bit away from the main area...but one can walk down to the market place... first time i went there in 1995 with family , after that i revisited park with my husband in the year 2011 december... the place is exactly the same one , even after 16 long years.....
The place is absolutely nostalgic. couples would definitely love it. view from the room is wonderful... preferably take the 1st floor rooms......the furnitures are pure antiquities......the service of the hotel was too good.........food was good too....
Most of all the hotel fits the best in ones budget and facility wise it is cheap ....

Room Tip: preferably take the 1st floor rooms.... couples would love it.....

Park hotel is a mix of an old & new property.Old perfectly restored furniture & antiquities. We chose a hygenic attic room for a better view of Kalimpong.2 Wide view glass windows gave us a perfect scenic view.Room service was good with not a prompt service boy. Compact bar with wooden high stools was nostalgic.A small lawn & seating lobby gave a feeling of the lord of the "Raj". Restaurant service closes very early at night, which was the only problem being a metro resident with late night habits. Curio shop was not for us.The best thing was that the hotel had a variety of plants & orchids in the premises.10 mins walk/drive from the market. As a whole it suited our criteria of a comfortable stay away from home perfectly.

Room Tip: Rooms with Kalimpong view is a must.Couple inquire about the double bed being joined by two separate...

This place is a bit out of town but you can easily walk in. The buildings have alot of character and the bathroom is large. My only complaint is that the room was really damp. I didn't realise initially but now it makes sense that the windows were open when the staff showed me the room. Don't worry about eating at the restaurant as it is expensive and you can find much better in the town. Staff were fine. This hotel is used by tour groups - a bit of a problem when they leave early as the walls/doors are pretty thin. The bar is cute. I loved Kalimpong but would probably find another place to stay if I came back that is better value for money.

As the title states it seems to be a heaven for all sorts pf creepers and mainly cockroaches. One can find them in different sizes and at different locations like the Bed, the cipboards the sitting area and for sure the toilets.
The staff is extremely helpfull but with just 2 of them the cockroaches out nimber them by miles and i truely wr should pool money and gift the owner a pest control device.

It's a nice hotel with good valley view. But no room service. We enjoyed our stay here for one night. Mr. Arun Tamang Front Office Manager was very helpful. But the food served in dinner was insufficient as we were around 15 people. Overall, Value for money
