“MUST VISIT”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

The waterfall is very small but the root bridge is amazing. ull be surprised how it is made. the root bridge is small but the venue is very beautiful and the root bridge in itself is a wonder how it is conceived. there is small fee of rs 10 for entry into the area. the drive to mawlynnong is ok but in the later half the road is bad. it is suggested that one may start from shiilong early cause it is quiet a long drive. when going to mawlynnong do not forget to go the sky bridge. it gives a view of bangladesh but the bridge in itself is very good. they charge rs 10 per person but it is worth it go in the evening and the view from there is very serene.

“Living root bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Easy trek. There are three popular Living root bridges in Meghalaya. (May be more but I know about these three only). This is the easiest one to trek, even elder people can walk down to the bridge. This place is around 2 hrs journey from Shillong but worth visiting the bridge and the adjacent village.

“Cozy little Village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Sure. This is one of the cleanest village and most importantly well maintained with earthy sense of aesthetic orientation with natural flora and fauna, by the villagers.
Wish we the travellers do not ravage the fragile ecological balance and be sensitive to the natural surroundings;
Only one or two home made meal options are available only to eke out a living. We need to be sensible enough to just stay our course and be done with whatever is available but not to expect the food as if its from a star hotel.
But the food is great; freshly made; and served with genuine hospitality
Nearby Living Root bridge is equally awesome...
There is a entrance fee of Rs.50/- sincerely wish that its being used effectively and truly for the development of the village and its upkeep

“Nothing Great !!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Its not really a waterfall !! I am not sure why there are so many reviews raving about the beauty of the same. The main attraction of this place is the Living Root Bridge. The stream below it just falls for a 1-2 feet, which does not qualify it as a waterfall !!

However, when in Mawlynnong, the Living Root Bridge is a must visit. So by virtue of the same, you would definitely witness this so called fall.
