“A Cave not for all to traverse..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Very difficult passage within the cave with dripping water, unpaved bottom with boulders scattered, and so low and sharp surface around at places, that one should crawl to pass the cave !!

“A bit of adventure in the caves”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

This is a must visit place around Mawsynram. Its just 4-5 kms from Mawsynram towards Shillong. The cave is not very big. But you can have your bit of adventure here. The entrance is wide open. There is a "ShivaLinga" placed here. You can walk forward and you will find big rocks. There is no lighting from here. Its very dark. Better to carry a torch. You can move forward on the rocks carefully. Make sure your shoes got good grip. Theres a small passage. You will have to squeeze through it. Check your footing once you come out of the passage. Theres a deep hole. You can come back from here or you can climb the rock facing you. If you climb up the rock through a narrow slit, you are actually out of the cave on the other end. Come back the same way and once you are near the entrance of the cave, take a right, bend down, crawl, you will enter a small room. you will be able to just stand here. Thats the complete exploration you can do in this cave. Children and old people better avoid all the crawling and climbing.

“A different experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

I like this place but this is definitely not a place for healthy people or infants. The cave is fun if you want some adventure. If you are a claustrophobic then you should not visit this place. There are enough lights and signs inside the cave so you will not get lost inside it. Try to visit this before 4 p.m. If you are wearing high heels then avoid this place.

“Better safe than sorry”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

A different experience, especially in India where spelunking is not exactly a mainstream activity. A little claustrophobic and a tight squeeze in certain places. However, more has to be done to make this more friendly.
