“Not To Be Missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We visited this destination in 3rd week of March 2013. It was truly an amazing experience and people who love elephants and animal will love it to the core. It takes a five minutes boat-ride to cross the river and reach the elephant camp. we reached at 10 am to watch the elephants bathing, feeding etc. Here you can also bath and feed the elephant and take lot of photos. I did not go for elephant ride. I suppose it is 100/ per person. Apart from that boating will charge you Rs.20 and 50 for making elephant bath and feed. Do not miss this awesome experience if you are visiting Coorg.

“Fun time with elephants..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

We visited the Elephant camp as a destination in the last week of March 2013and didnot stay here.
Weather is hot these days. Take ample sun-protection.Not much water in the river-still the sight is refreshing for city dwellers. It takes a five minutes boat-ride to cross the river and reach the elephant camp. We need to reach early (we reached at 10 am) to watch the elephants bathing, feeding etc. I guess after 11 they are taken away inside the forest. There will be long queue for boats but that is manageable. They charge 20/- per person, kids under 5/6 years travel free. Preserve the ticket and board the same boat while coming back. Rafting is another option-available for 100/- per person. We opted for a boat as our toddler was with us.
Once you reach, you can feed the elephants, pose for photographs with them, bathe them (only splashing waters- the attendants won't allow you to touch them) - for a payment of 20/- per person for each activity. Elephant ride is available at 100/-. Not worth it-better have a ride when you visit Nisargadham (another tourist spot) next.
You can have a splash in the Caveri too. Wear shorts/capris etc and good walking shoes. Some people were crossing the river by stepping on the stones..adventurous but slippery surface. Better to avoid if kids are there.
Kids as well as adults will enjoy the encounter with these elephants. All are chained and quite tame.
Ample parking and refreshments available at the entrance. Road is also good. It is 10 km drive from the Mysore-Madikeri highway.

“Good for a go..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

The place is well maintained and can boast of an excellent service and friendly staff. Kids will have a gala and so will nature lovers. They plan your day with great attention and takes care of details to make sure you explore everything while there with a well defined schedule for nature walk, river ride , safari and elephant interaction. Food was just OK ; could have served at least one Coorgi delicacy as a signature dish. Breakfast was yummy - Dosas and sweet Pongal were highlights. Not much wild life to be seen around - this is more of an elephant camp. But the river flowing by the side is a delight and that makes the nature walks also an experience to cherish. Was impressed by the clean rooms, fresh blankets and towels and water served at every room straight from Aquaguard. Its Worth the money you pay for and you feel good while at this place..

“Different place to see, bath and feed elephants”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Access to Dubare is itself an adventurous one. We went in a jeep from the main road and the ride was not so pleasant one. Then a boat ride till the elephant camp, which is hardly a 5 min ride in shallow water. Then we can see elephants bathing. If we want, we can also bathe them, feed them, take photographs. Kids might love them.
