We had visited banon resorts in manali 10 years back when it was a part of the club mahindra network, but the current reso does not meet the standards. It is no where near the munnar resort as well.
Staff is courteous, but rooms are not upto the mark, especially if you are in the wings. They resemble a cheap resort and there is a need to upgrade. We stayed in the one bedroom in June and it was it offered good space but we missed a balcony.
Views are good and the transport service is also good, but there need to be shuttles to the town at regular intervals especially as the resort is 4 km from the town.
Activities within the resort are limited a small garden and a play room.

Food was really bad and not worth it. It really needs attention, not sure how club mahindra can miss this.

Overall stay is ok but no where that of our expectations from a CM resort.

It was a family trip. The property is located at the top in the outskirts. Comparable to a three star property the staff was courteous enough. Check in was super fast. Reception staff was very helping esp Ms Komal. The reception area was decent. We had a studio apmt. regret to state that the room was not upto the standards. The door of the room looked like as if we are entering a very local kinda hotel. The cushions were smelling like aaawwwwww..!!! Though the room was spacious enough but lacked LCD..very "LS"..The restaurant too was not upto the standards. The various lobbies/passages had tiles which were worn out/faded and lost its color from original to white..!! Fun zone was quite a fun experience for kids. The only good things were the staff, and the food. This property needs a lot of upgradation. Overall an above average stay..

We were a family group of 4 senior citizen couples for a week's exchange from RCI.Though it's layout is not as expansive as Mahindra resort at Goa, we were quite comfortable in our junior suite rooms on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the valley and snow-capped mountains. The reception staff was very courteous and friendly. The rooms were well-furnished, though the bathroom was a problem, as the bathing area was barely 1" lower than the floor resulting in the bathroom floor getting completely wet. The food at the restaurant could be improved, with more western type menus, though the staff and chef were extremely enthusiastic and service was excellent. There is no elevator, and guests with mobility problems could be inconvenienced. But then, I am informed there are no elevators in Manali hotels.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor overlooking the valley.

I recently visited this resort. The starting was very terrible. We booked a Car at Disposal for 5 days which costed us Rs 20,000/= (AC Tavera). We arrived Chandigarh Railway Station right on time and were supposed to be pickedup by the Driver with plycard. No one was there after calling the driver we were told to goto the car park and meet the driver. 1st promise (Plycard) was not fulfilled. Later complaining the resort the driver shows up after 40 mins. Thank you Mr. Driver...!!!!!!! They expect people to walk with full luguage to the car park....Strange. 2nd Promise...Driver told us AC is not working...again i had to make a call to the resort and after 30 mins of sweat sudenly driver tells us AC is working....wow. Driver did not know the route for Manali????? He was asking people every now and then and it took 2 hrs to exit Chandigargh.
FORGET ALL ABOVE... GOD SAVED MY AND MY FAMILY LIFE 3 (THREE) TIMES. THE DRIVER DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. He was beaten by a Truck Driver and Abused by Bus driver on the way. I was shocked...we could not believe what is happening... Any how we reached Manali resort after 11.5 hrs (Usual time is 8 hrs).

Resort was just OK. Food was limited and was OK i would give 7/10 but yes it could be more better like other resorts. There were not sufficient toileteries / cups / glasses in the room. Every day we had to ask room service for water / cups / glasses.

Why cant they arrange when they kno 4 adults are there???

I requested the reception to give a room on ground floor as my parents are senior citizen and they cant climb. No reply for first 2 days and 3rd they we were offered a room on 2nd floor which we rejected to take. It does not make sense to shift from 3rd to 2nd for 2 more days..

I will not visit this resort again..

Room Tip: Just check your room before you take it...

We stayed at snow peaks in first week of october. The resort is excellent, though not as shown on the website. The resort is 6 Km away from Manali and has the youth hostel sharing its compound.
The rooms are nice, with an excellent view of Manali and the valley leading to Rohtang. The restaurant serves okay food. The resort should try and serve tasty food and some local dishes too..
The hotel does not have a grocery store like other MHIL resorts..Club Mahindra ought to keep similar standards across all its resorts. Overall it was a good experience. We plan to come during January few years down the line when there's a lot of snow around.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with balconies if you are travelling as a small family.

This was our first stay after after the membership enrolment. We were highly impressed with the resort facilities. We stayed in a studio apartment, with excellent view to snow peaked mountains. Food, very nice, service is excellent. We stayed there during July 2008.
