I ate at Full Moon Cafe during my time on Havelock Island. I must say that this restaurant scores highly in every department, and you must visit it at least once if you happen to be in Havelock.
The prices may seem a little high, but the portions are rather generous and the quality of food ensured that I ate there almost everyday.
My breakfasts and dinners were usually light. Lunchtime was when I sampled Full Moon's superb seafood dishes, and I had no cause to complain, except that I felt very sleepy after such a hearty meal!
The milkshakes are not all that remarkable, but do try their freshly squeezed juices (no packaged juices here!).
One more thing that I HIGHLY recommend is the 'dessert of the day', which is usually prepared just before dinner. I had the banana-chocolate and the orange-chocolate cakes, and that was pretty much what I had for dinner.
Ambience and Service
The ambience is amazing. The seats are comfortable, the lighting is great and most importantly, the music was not loud (a disease that several Indian restaurants have).
One can sit here and listen to the waves for hours on end. If you're bored, have a look at the bookshelf or play a quick game of chess while you wait.
In addition, the general lack of noisy families (loud fathers on mobile phones and rowdy children for whom discipline is an alien concept) ensured that we could converse without much trouble.
The two adorable resident canines - Frodo and Sam do roam around the restaurant at times. Do not be alarmed. They are not permitted to enter the kitchen, and they will not clamber onto the chairs or tables.
The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, a great place to relax, eat and pass your time!
