“Hotel Review: The Kingdom”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We had spent two nights staying at this hotel as part of our honeymoon. The room itself was clean and comfortable, the AC was very strong and hence we didn't keep in on. Also there was no hot water in the bathrooms. They also arranged pick-up and drop-off wherever we needed it. Also we were unable to get any hot water in the room, but since the climate is so warm its not such a problem, except that they claim that the rooms have hot water. The food in the hotel restaurant is good but quite expensive.

We stayed two days(15&16 Jan/13) in this hotel in a deluxe A/C room. Location wise good in the mid of the jetty and market area. Room is also specious but amenities in the room are much below 3 star category. Bath room is so so like ungraded hotels.

Room Tip: I found It cheaper to Book through Clear trip then direct booking.

We stayed in the Kingdom duplex cottages. It was bult separate from The kingdom hotel. The picture as shown here is of The kingdom hotel. Cottages were newly constructed, but not maintained . Daily cleanliness of the rooms were not done. There was no room service available at cottages, one had to walk 100mt to hotel for tea, breakfast, dinner, etc. Cups, towels, bedsheets all were very dirty. Food quality was not good as it was too oily.

Beside all these negative points one can enjoy and had good leisure time, but only when you were in groups..

Room Tip: all rooms were same..... but some had swings in the rooms and in some rooms one can view bathroom fr...

Recently we had been on Honeymoon. After a disastrous stay at Sea Princess in Port Blair, our stay in The Kingdom in Havelock Island is a much needed respite. The hotel is nearest to the Havelock Jetty. As soon as we reached the hotel, the hotel staffs immediately allotted a room. The room was clean with elegant design. The bed was soft and fantastic. Bath room was clean. The staff at reception are second to none. They took care of us so well. We needed a vehicle and information about Havelock, they immediately provided it. The food at restaurant is reasonably priced and so tasty. The only problem we experienced is non functioning of hot water tap. But when we complained they immediately bought two buckets of hot waters for us to bath. The hotel also provided motorcycle service at cheap rate for a personalized experience.
The downside is that the check out time is 8.30 which is really difficult considering the fact that both the govt and private ferries to Port Blair start journey afternoon. Another issue is that the hotel does not provided complimentary breakfast. But it should not be big deal as hotel rent is lower than the other hotels in the island. The hotel staff were understanding enough to give us a room to change dress though we already had checked out on the departing day. Choosed this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good. we choose a deluxe room and satisfied with it.

Hi guys
This hotel is located just close to the jetty. It mainly ties up with tours and travels and hence the people staying here are part of a group or travelling alone through private tours and travels. Therefore they cater accordingly. They are not too bothered about your reviews or opinions or keeping your needs way up. Also their restaurant doesnt have tandoor and food is below average.

Having said that the cottages are duplex and a good experience if you have never stayed in one of these. There is no sea beach or front as there are mangrooves blocking the whole view with the beach rocky and not usable. Some distance away there is a small opening into the sea with some sort of place to have a dip. If you happen to drop into sea shells next doors you will be in for a surprise and start regreting your decision to stay at kingdom instead of sea shell.

But let me again say it depends on your budget. Action is too far at Radhanagar beach or Beach No 5 and you will need to travel there.

Room Tip: Ask for Cottage if you stay here

The Hotel is the nearest hotel to the jetty ( But you needn't worry about it because it hardly takes any time from any hotel to reach the jetty shore).
We had booked the Hotel through Travel Agent, initially we liked the Pics posted in Trip Advisor ( But please don't get misled by them).
The Rooms were dingy and had a foul smell. I even went around Havelock after checking the Hotel to see if I could find better Hotel (but couldn't find one, as we were on new years eve and all were full).
The staff are extremely courteous and co-operative. Food is good.

If at all you need to stay here get the Cottages. Cottages face the beach. The beach has obstructed view because of Mangroves.
