“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Nice menu, good service, reasonable prices. 2nd time to this location. Menu is a mix of American food from crab cakes to meatloaf.

“Usually love Cameron Mitchell restaurants -- but not this one”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

I actually love the other Cap City (in Grandview). The food's good, the atmosphere fun (noisy and active), the service is usually good enough. But this one, in Gahanna, was too loud, too chaotic (granted, it was Father's Day), and the service was terrible. It wasn't that the server was overwhelmed -- he was just bad. Every time I looked up he's talking to another server. And he'd walk by our table countless times without asking if everything was okay, or if we needed anything. As a matter of fact, he was at the table next to us, walked right by us, and didn't return for a good 15 minutes (he was talking to someone) before we were ever greeted (I had a sense it would be "him"). Food was fine (usually is). I got the pecan-crusted tilapia salad (the fish was sitting in water so the bottom was soggy); others in the party got calimari (good), hamburger (good), beef stroganoff (great), and maytag blue cheese chips (great).

“Dining at the Diner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

As a first time visitor, I had to go with the meatloaf. It is worthy of the many mentions in previous reviews and in the newspaper cuttings in the lobby. Very good size portion. We also had the blue cheese salad which had generous chunks of cheese...a bit heavy on the dressing perhaps but very good. Decor is interesting, a combination of retro '50's diner and modern coffee house. With the music and bare walls / bare floors, and almost every table filled, it can get a bit loud so this is not a romantic spot by any means.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We were driving from Dayton to Columbus to meet our children for Easter Sunday. We had heard rave reviews for this Cameron Mitchell restaurant so we booked our Easter family meal here. They were offering their brunch menu, which looked fairly decent online. However, I have to give a mixed review. My daughter ordered the romano crusted chicken and was happy with her meal. However, I ordered the beef stroganoff and was extremely disappointed. The pasta had a very dense texture and the overall taste was very bland (had to salt it numerous times). In addition the service was extremely slow (which was probably due to the holiday). Bottom line - I was fairly disappointed - not sure if I would make the effort for a return visit.
