“unbelievable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

I don't like the word "unbelievable" because it tends to be over used -- but this time it applies. The carvings in this museum are fantastic in beauty and detail. Even more amazing is what the man accomplished after having to drop out of school after 2nd grade.

If you are ever anywhere near this part of Ohio, put a vist to this museum on your list.

Oh -- and by the way -- if you want some excellent knives, they also make and sell them here. We bought one and it is of course too soon to say how it will hold up over the years, but some other members of our tour group had been here before and had purchased knives. They were still quite pleased with them.

“Amazing Talent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

We had not been to Warther's since 2004, so we stopped in this past weekend as part of our camping weekend in Ohio Amish Country. Very nice upgrades to the Museum and still is amazing as to what "Mooney" accomplished as his "hobby". Well worth the fees and great for the entire family. If you are a railfan it is a must see! We also dropped off our knives to get them sharpened!

“What a Life!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

This museum is a treasure! Visit it and learn what a true genius Mooney Wurther was. This man of tremendous talent, left behind an incredible life story and a collection of works along with a family to carry on his traditions and legacy. His carvings and Mrs. Wurther's button art are well worth seeing. They give testimony to what people can accomplish with dedication. Our guide did a fabulous job of sharing the family's story and was able to add personal touches since he knew Mr. Wurther. Of course we couldn't leave without purchasing some kitchen knives; they are "art" in their own right.

“Worth a drive from just about anywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Mr. Warther was a genius carver. We visited this place about 35 years ago and saw him carving. Now the museum is enlarged and his house is open too for touring. Everything is just amazing and we spent several hours there. Love their fantastic knives as well - you must visit this place!

“Amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and made one of our stops at the Warther Museum. I had been there a few times as a young girl and even stood in line and got an autograph from Ernest "Mooney" Warther himself! I still have it too. Since I had been there, it changed in a favorable way (not that it needed to). Mr. Warther created the most amazing working pliers (from one piece of wood) and incredible locomotives, along with other carvings. My mom has had a set of Warther knives for over 40 years and they're still perfect. My husband and I received a set for our wedding 25 years ago and we still use them too! Our tour guide, Chris, was outstanding at relaying the life of Mr. Warther and his family. We intend to bring our grandsons (ages 9 & 8) ASAP. If you've not visited this museum, it is well worth the 2 hours and will be a wonderful memory. I highly recommend their knives as well.
