I thought the price quoted was excellent for a suite, and since the hotel is a well-known chain with a good reputation, it would be a great deal. Unfortunately, the hotel does not live up to the chain's reputation. The word "quality" should be removed from its name. Upon first driving up to the property, the overall appearance was nice, but it was all downhill from there. The main entrance doors were very dirty and worn looking, there were some nice flower beds out front but they were filled with cigarette butts and bits of paper! Inside, again, first impression was pretty nice, but nothing stood up to closer inspection. All glass surfaces were full of fingerprints, paint was chipped and carpets were worn and patched. Check-in was quick, but I had to ask the clerk to repeat everything because I had a hard time understanding his thick Indian accent.
My biggest concern is bedding, which appeared to be quite clean when I pulled back the bedspread, but within minutes it was dotted with small black specks which smeared when I touched them. I believe they came from the dirty A/C unit, they were sooty looking. I don't usually check rooms for dust, but since everything else was grubby and worn, I tried a finger across the top of the headboard, and it came away filthy!
It took five minutes for the water in the shower to get warm, and it never got hot. Back of bathroom door was black from hand contact, looks like it's never been wiped off. Floor tile and baseboards were dirty looking, as though they never get cleaned either. There was some kind of discoloration on the wall near the showerhead as though a leak had been very poorly repaired.
Overall, it feels like the owners/managers of this building just don't care about taking care of it. It made me wonder what else was wrong that wasn't visible. I felt very uncomfortable there, but we had spent all day at the State Fair in the 95-degree heat and didn't have the energy to look elsewhere.
The kids did say that the outdoor pool was pretty nice for a hotel of this category, but I didn't spend any time there. My 16-year-old was the only person in our group who went to the breakfast and said it wasn't even worth the trip downstairs.
