I've lived in Columbus for over 12 years now and had never been to Nancy's. I had heard many things about Nancy's over the years but just hadn't made my way there...that is until a couple of weeks ago.
I braved the cold and the drive to Clintonville to give Nancy's a try. It's a small community hole in the wall where locals seem to frequent regularly. I have to say that I'm really impressed with what the cook can do on such a small grill - and he certainly seems to care about what he does.
The prices were reasonable. The eggs were tasty (i.e. actually had flavor to them). We tried the biscuits and gravy, but unfortunately the gravy was overly salty. It didn't have the flavor of a typical sausage gravy. There were lots of sausage pieces in it which is good, but I can't figure out what's different in their base.
We'd have the biscuits again, but will pass on the gravy next time. We saw several people order french toast that looks terrific. We'll be back again but next time I think I'll have eggs and try the french toast.
