“Old school diner in fancy German village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

This place tends to get very busy, so be prepared for a wait. Prices are reasonable, even for Columbus, and the food is good. The menu is diner-traditional (but not the extensive diner menu you'd get at a NE diner). Pancakes, omelets, hashbrowns. As in most diners, the coffee itself is passable at best, but when paired with some blueberry pancakes that rival the best in the city, it becomes much tastier.

“Just Good Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

The GVCS has amazing comfort food at prices anyone can afford. My daughter and I shared 2 Eggs and Toast, a Short Stack of huge and fluffy pancakes, Biscuits & Gravy and a side of thick bacon plus a bottomless cup of coffee & lemonade for $15. This is in contrast to the bistro at our hotel, which featured a breakfast with $9 sandwiches as their cheapest option. The wait was tolerable, staff was friendly and very attentive. My $1 cup of coffee was never past half-empty and was a refreshing change of pace from my normal latte habit. If I lived in Columbus, I would be the size of an elephant because I would gladly eat there every day.

“A must-do for German Village”

Cheap, delicious food, a legit old diner. Service is fast, and the breakfast is awesome. I personally love the French toast.

“Traditional Diner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

Seems to be a favorite of locals. Old style diner in every way. Had to go with the Western Omelet since it was advertised. Quite good. Wife had blue berry pancakes. Two were the size of dinner plates and quite fluffy. Could have used more blue berries - but satisfying just the same. Don't expect gourmet - just simple, well prepared food at a reasonable price.

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

Very busy on weekends. We went there on a Tuesday morning and the place was also full. Got bar seats. Very mom and pop shop. Retro. I ordered hash browns and western omelette. Seemed to be very greasy. Nothing worth writing home. Probably won't be going back
