Description: Katzinger's Delicatessen - Family owned and operated since 1984! Our sandwiches are really big - HUGE in fact. We know some of you can't eat that much so we also offer a smaller sandwich - we refer to it as Normal. All sandwiches come with a free help-yourself-from-the-pickle-barrel dill. Choose from traditional "old" or garlicky "new". And we offer plenty of freshly prepared-to-order salads and desserts to tempt you, too. You should leave Katzinger's wanting to come back again - and soon! We're very proud of our food - Black Angus corned beef prepared by Sy Ginsburg's United Meat and Deli using Sy's special secret ingredient ( many, many tons later and he still won't tell us what it is!)...Chickens raised by Amish families at Gerber Farms... Imported Emmentaler, the original Swiss cheese... Breads made especially for us and delivered daily by Mediterra Bakehouse in Pittsburgh and we hand slice every loaf... Bagels from Sammy's delivered fresh daily... Gluten free bread from Eban bakery of Grove City . Our mayo is Hellmann's. We oven roast our turkeys to moist perfection. We dress our roast beef with lots of garlic and rosemary and roast it to a beautifully pink medium rare. We marinate our brisket for 48 hours before slow roasting to fork tenderness. Our chicken, tuna and egg salads are made with memorable recipes. These are just a few of the fine ingredients we use to create the deli foods of Katzinger's Delicatissen.

“Great food, decent portions, and great ambience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We have been to Katzinger's several times and still make a point of dropping in when in Columbus. We enjoy the portion size being a little more modest than most deli's, and find the variety worth exploring. Help yourself to a pickle in the barrel too.
Don't worry if you cannot park close by; it is fun to walk around the German Village which is in its own right something to enjoy.

“High prices, Mediocore food!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

Went with pretty high expectations based on past experience my wife remembered. Three sandwiches for lunch, no chips, no drinks was $33 for pretty small sandwiches and hardly any fillings. I thought I get better stuff in my office cafeteria for $5. Menu is hard to follow and staff not that helpful! Maybe the last time there.
at $8 to 9 per bread, it may be the most expensive bread I have seen, even for the larger size.

“Outstanding delicatessan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

This is always so good - a true New York deli in Columbus. The menu is huge, but all the sandwiches and sides I have tried are all delicious - the pastrami and corned beef are amazing. We love the Reuben and Big Bob's Belly Balancer and split both so we can have both. You can order the full size sandwiches or a smaller size that is still huge. And of course, don't forget the pickles in the barrels and the desserts. A greaat place.

“Best deli in Columbus.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is definitely the best deli that I've been to in Columbus. Their traditional Jewish deli fare is quite good (knish, latkes, etc), and their enormous sandwiches are fantastic. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, and all of the meat is outstanding. The one drawback to this place is the price. While still not outrageously expensive, it costs more than you would expect to pay for a deli sandwich. The shop has a nice atmosphere, and you can sample and buy many of the local ingredients that they use in their sandwiches. Definitely worth checking this place out!

“One of My Favorties”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

I can't say enough good things about this place. I live in New York and can only think of a handful of delis that do a pastrami sandwich as good (Katz's, Second Avenue). Sure it's a little expensive, but I think you need to have some perspective when you're paying $11 for one of the best sandwiches in the mid-west, if not the country, that includes a free awesome pickle. Everything is consistently fantastic. Katzinger's is a must-go.
