“Convenient to Hotel...and that's about it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

On a Friday night when other places were hopping this one was a ghost town. When we arrived we were told the kitchen closed early (bad sign)...people were nice....desserts were okay...

“Best Reunion Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

This is a fun place to eat and visit with former classmates. And, the parking lot is big enough for a large group photo op.

“disappointing experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Was so looking forward to a wonderful Sunday Brunch with my entire family at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant after reading it was one of the top rated brunches in Columbus. While the food was OK, the customer service was not what I was expecting. The dining room is very crowded and tables are packed in very close to each other. Our party of 9 was seated at a table that would have been comfortable for 6 or 7 and we could not get up to to to the buffet without bumping other diners at neighboring tables. We had to weave our way through tables with very little space between them to get to the buffet area. Apparently our waiter did not want to weave through the tables either as we seldom saw him during our meal. Drink glasses were left unfilled and dirty dishes stacked up on the table during the meal. The check was dropped at the table and we had been charged for two kids meals for ages 5-12. The children were only 1 and 2 years old and one was clearly in a high chair. We were not asked the children's ages and if I had not looked closely at the check we would have been overcharged. As it was we waited for over 10 minutes trying to get the waiters attention and I finally took the check to the hostess to get it corrected. The service at the buffet was equally disappointing. There is a very nice carving station and station for made to order omlets, but only one employee was manning both stations at a very busy time of the day and the line was very long. Food at the buffet line was left unfilled and the dessert table was in need of some attention to cleaning up. There seemed to be plenty of wait staff available, but they spent a lot of time at the hostess station socializing with each other. This was very annoying when it seemed there was so much they could have been doing to improve the customers dining experience. Our entertainment budget is limited and when we splurge and spend a considerable amount for a nice family meal out I expect more. There are other places to eat in Columbus that are more relaxing and customer oriented and I would not choose to return to Aero Squadron again.

“Great Sunday brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

We went for Sunday brunch for my mom & dad's 75th birthdays. We had a rather large group (10) and our server, Kenny, did a very good job keeping dishes cleared and drinks filled up. He was very friendly and personable.

We have been here multiple times for the buffet for special occasions. It is billed as 'now independently owned and operated'. The quality and layout for the brunch is much improved over previous visits. All of the food stations were attractively presented and the dishes were tasty and well prepared. They were also set up for much better flow. The made-to-order station chef did a very good job with preparations. I cannot speak for the regular menu selections as our experience has only included the buffet.

It is very reasonably priced at about $20 per adult and $13 per child. Regular coffee is extra but cappuccino and juice are included in the buffet.

The one negative is the lack of grounds maintenance. Exterior maintenance and landscaping has been neglected. There are straw bales that have been there for years, broken down and moldy. Years ago, the kids would sit on them for pictures. They are nasty now. Straw bales cost less than $5.00, tops. Planters, beds and shrubs are not tended. A flat of annuals is less than $20. And pruning shears are reusable. Weeding just takes a little elbow grease.

The interior decor is interesting and the kids love watching the planes take off. Just wish they put a little effort into exterior maintenance.

“In need of a big time spruce up/clean up”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

We enjoy the 94th, however, the really need a major overhaul to the place. The grounds outside need some attention. Not a very good first impression. There is a oak barrel close to the front door, where possibly at 1 time flowers may have been planted in, now, there are just weeds.
The tablecloths at the adjacent table to where we were sitting, we put on the wrong way and you could see the tags. Our table cloth had some stain on it. We were sitting next to a window and there was a spider web coming from the window over to our table. There were 2 of us sitting at a 4 top table, which is the table size where they usually place us. They do not remove the extra place settings, so, I am assuming after we leave, they just replace plates and utensils from our seats. For sanitary reasons, I wish they would take the extra serving peices off the table, who knows what the previous table guests did to the extra settings!??. Yuck! In area where we were sitting, they were using part of it for storage of items. Not very pleasing to the eye looking at a bunch of fake flowers and stacked up plastic glass containers. A very tired and worn place. Food is consistant and pretty good.
