A group of friends and I visit Crew Stadium on an annual "guys trip" every summer for a Crew game. We used to visit for the official "Ultimate Tailgate" event. However, that event has lost its luster due to a decrease in accomidations at the same, hefty ticket price. Needless to say, we've begun tailgating in the parking lot prior to games, which is a very friendly and spirited place to be! I can't think of a better, and cheaper way to spend an afternoon with friends than tailgating before a game in the parking lot of Crew Stadium!
The stadium itself is spacious with lawn areas around the perimiter. There is plenty of variety in vending regarding both food and merhandise. The seats are bleacher style. If you're feeling a bit rowdy, get a seat next to the Hooligan section. They always keep the adrenaline pumping, even when the game slows down.
If you are looking to stay the night near Crew Stadium, check out my review on the Holiday Inn Express on Hudson Street. It's a quick drive around the corner from the stadium, or a short mile-ish long hike. Oh, and there is a Big Boy in between that we like to hit up for breakfast.
This is one of the only soccer specific stadiums in the States and the home of the Columbus Crew MLS team, however you may want to catch the US Men's National Team here for an international friendly, or a World Cup qualifier. Or, if you're lucky, you may get the opportunity to participate in a concert at Crew Stadium.
Have fun, be massive, and GO CREW!!!
