“We stay here every time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

We stay at this hotel every time we are in Columbus. Everything is reasonable and it is close to several restaurants with ease in getting off/on the highway (except during rush hour traffic). We only had one problem (with noisy adolescents who seemed part of a sports team) and the manager took care of us after our stay.

Overall my stay was pretty good. The bed was comfortable, the room was decently clean and there were lots of extra pillows which I enjoy.

The staff at this hotel was friendly and the free cookies are always a nice touch.

Our room was ok, the bed was comfortable but the room could definintely use some work. There were stains on the walls and near the floor in the bathroom. The air conditioner is probably my biggest issue, it was SO loud that it would wake me up when I was sleeping, but at least it was functional. Also the television was on a dresser sort of thing, but it was so low that you could hardly see it when you were laying down in the bed. It should have been elevated, or they should have put it on a taller piece of furniture.

The hotel was very close to a lot of restaurants and also very close to the Easton Town Center shopping area which was really nice. The person at the front desk recommended we go to a restaurant called tumbleweed which was down the street - Don't go there, it's not very good.

The breakfast was decent for a free one. They had a selection of breads/english muffins, juices, yogurt and you could make your own waffles. There was also eggs, sausage and breakfast potatoes.

We got a good price on the hotel, I would stay here again if I was just passing through town. If you are looking for a nice hotel to stay more than a few days I would recommend a different one.

Room Tip: Maybe just check your room for cleanliness.

Stayed here for one night while doing some shopping in the area. My first impression was that the hotel was comfy and modern, however once I started to pay closer attention there were a few negatives. For example, there was no fan in my bathroom to help clear the steam after showering, the exit was hard to get out of in heavy traffic, and they ran out of breakfast items by the time I ate (around 9am). The rooms are also lacking privacy/blackout curtains so if you're like me and prefer to sleep in a space as dark as possible, you will definitely want to bring an eye mask because you'll have a lot of light in your room at night.

Overall, the hotel was extremely clean and updated and the rooms were perfect for a place to sleep.... it's just once I started to nitpick, I realized a few things that kept me from rating this place 5/5. If you're on a budget, this is a convenient place to stay in Columbus and you can't go wrong with the price and cleanliness!

Room Tip: Because the windows lack privacy curtains, definitely ask for a higher-up room!

We are in the process of moving to Columbus so we made a 3 night trip to the area to find a house. We selected this property based on the reviews as well as the price. We were not disappointed. The rooms were very clean, the hotel was very clean, we had very good service, the pool and hot tub are HUGE!!! For the price, we couldn't have been any happier.

Nice hotel, good breakfast. However, the pool is open for kids from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. meaning constant screaming & running down halls. I have never stayed at a hotel with such long hours for the pool.

My husband and I stayed here in February for a family Valentine's Day. We saw on their website that they had a COSI Package which included a discount coupon for COSI, a pizza gift card, and a great rate on the room, so we booked it.

We arrived on a Monday night and stayed overnight, with plans to go to COSI on Tuesday.

Check in was simple, the room and hotel were both clean and comfy, and the pool was nice, but a bit chilly for the winter.

There was a nice, hot breakfast buffet with lots of choices.

My husband happened to grab a brochure for COSI that was sitting in the local travel and activities rack, and noticed that COSI is only open Wednesday through Saturday in the off season, which is really any time but the summer. So we called COSI and in fact confirmed that COSI would be closed the next day when we had planned to go.

We understand that we really should have checked the COSI website before driving all the way from IN for this trip, but we didn't think anything of it when we booked the package and were not told about the hours on the hotel website. We also do not fault the hotel, because as I said, we should have checked.

But when we notified the front desk staff, they had NO CLUE about COSI being closed on Monday and Tuesdays. They did not have any other ideas of things for kids to do in the surrounding area. There was a computer with internet in the lobby, so we decided to use that to see what options we might have for activities. The computer was "locked out" and the front desk clerk did not have a clue what the password was. He kept trying to figure it out but kept having to run back to the desk to answer the phone. He eventually called someone who knew the password.

We were frustrated because the hotel sells a COSI package and had no knowledge of the days COSI was open. We feel that if they are going to offer that package, they should post something on the website when people are trying to book that package, so they don’t drive 2 hours only to have it be closed.

When we got home, we noticed that the coupon they gave us for COSI had in fact expired on 12/31/2011. They gave us an EXPIRED coupon! We called the hotel and they did not know this either! They said they would pass the information on to management.

The next day, we got an email from management stating that they had made an arrangement with COSI to accept the expired coupons until the end of February, at which time the hotel was no longer going to be offering the COSI package and they had no current coupons to give us. So the bottom line was that we ended up with no trip to COSI, no compensation for that, no useable coupon, and NO APPOLOGY.

So the hotel itself was nice enough. Customer service, not so much.

On February 17, 2012 Mike Dunne the Front Office Manager sent the following apology:,
We appreciate you taking the time to complete a survey regarding your recent stay with us. On behalf of our entire staff here at Country Inns & Suites we apologize for the concerns you have about your experience at this hotel. In regards to your COSI coupons, we had arranged with COSI to accept the expired coupons through the end of March. The COSI package was an expiring deal, and instead of sending out all new coupons, they would honor the old ones. We appreciate the feedback and will use it to fine tune our operations in the hope that upon your next visit, we can meet or exceed your expectations. Sincerly, Michael Dunne

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to visit the Goodguys Car show at the Ohio Expo Center and found the location good to visit both the car show and as well the Easton shopping complex good plus close to airport. The hotel is well kept, rooms were clean, with good shower pressure, pool area was nice and beds were good with plenty of parking on the property. Only real gripe would be with the breakfast area being a bit small and breakfast selection could be better but other than that a good place to stay and very consistent County Inn experience all around.
