“a little bit of New York in columbus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

galleries, coffee shops , clothing stores and a market place are all worth visiting. Especially important if you have seen too many Ohio State red sweatshirts as this area is just fun .

“Artsy, Innovative & Down Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

This is the old part of downtown Columbus. It has some missing pieces, but many of the buildings are originals - mostly early 20th c. warm brick. The newer builds have to fit in, making this a truly retro experience. Day or night, there so many small shops, pubs, murals, galleries to enjoy. Check the Weekender to see if any special events are going on like Gallery Hpp [first Saturday of each month]. Delightful night out! You might even see a unicyclist cruising down the street...

“Big city appeal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

I am originally from NYC, and this is as close as it gets to experiencing a bit of Manhattan in Columbus. Art galleries, great bars, restaurants, and clubs. Really cool people and music too...one my favorite places in the city.

“Great place to window shop, people watch, eat and drink”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

I live only a few miles away, so I get over here quite a bit. It's a go-to place when we have out of town guests. There are eclectic shops, galleries and some of the better/more fun bars and restaurants in the city. Start at one end and walk to the other!

“The Columbus version of Soho”

The Short North has amazing restaurants and Gallery Hop on the first Saturday of every month is the best way to see great art and enjoy multiple restaurants as you "hop" around the Short North.
