We just got back to the The Columbus (Renaissance) Hotel from our yummy dinner at the Plantain Cafe, less than a minute walk away. Service was knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt. The narrow dining room has been thoughtfully, though simply, decorated with framed Cuban travel posters, black and white photos, and nicely-placed curtain panels on the ceiling and to break up the long space. We were tempted to eat out front at one of the few outdoor tables, but it was just a little to chilly for that, although there were a couple of people doing it anyway. The food was really well done. Our party of three had crispy beef, beef brisket braised in tomato wine sauce with peppers, and fried chicken with mojo sauce (on the side). All dinners come with white rice topped with black beans and a few pieces of sweet fried plantain. We ordered their only dessert, flan, to go. Can't tell you how good it is because it's in our hotel fridge waiting to be eaten later.
