“Don't come! Noise and prostitutes”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

This place is terrible! You request a ino-smoking room, and they are always "full" on the first two floors so you get stuck on the smoking floor.
Smoking includes weed/marijuana. They magically never find the people smoking weed.
The walls are paper-thin, and you can actually hear people having sex in the next room!
Without fail, they put people in room 324 who have the TV going ALL Night and who bring in a prostitute every other day. They haven't missed a day!
The polie don't care either. We .have a young child who cannot sleep because of the blaring TV.

Hey, Value Place at Zumstein Dr., Columbus, Ohio cannot be beaten for the "value". No way can you find hotel with all they have at such low rates. Stove top, microwave, good cable channels, cleanliness, VERY competent and friendly staff, great room conditions, great maintenance, etc. I could go on. Just believe me that you will NOT find a better value and I have stayed their every year for weeks at a time for four years now. Grateful that Value Place is doing well and going strong. Phil Mumm

Room Tip: First floor near north and south exits for convenience.

Not too bad if you're looking for a place with weekly rates and ability to live a somewhat normal life. Hotel is catered to people who are living in the area and may have the amenities from home, not necessarily to travelers.

First, the bad:
* No oven...only two (electric) stove burners, meals were very basic
* Bed was very thin and the mattress sits on a piece of plywood. If you plan on staying here for a long period of time, bring a mattress topper or something.
* The wi-fi was incredibly slow and you can only browse the internet with it. No netflix, no emails, no gaming, no chatting, ONLY web browsing. For a place that caters to people who need an extended place to live, this is a HUGE drawback. AT least open it to emails and netflix and VPN, Remote desktop and SSH for those who need to log into work.
* The ceiling was very thin. I could hear every movement upstairs.
* Very close to the highway.

The good:
* Had the basics to live comfortably for a week. Full sized fridge, stove, cabinets, table, chairs, TV with decent cable (although the remote didn't work) and a small closet area to hang clothes (with hangers! (at least in my room))
* Full sized laundro-mat with a laundry basket in my room
* Room was clean

I may stay here again if I'm in the area for a week. It's a decent deal in a decent area. Grocery store, Gas Station and Bob Evans nearby.

Room Tip: If you don't mind being on the fourth floor, then get a room up there. You avoid hearing people...

The hotel seems fairly well maintained and for the location it was surprisingly quiet. The only thing I would have preferred would have been cutlery in the room as well as linen exchange during the week. The charge you for both. For $189.00 for 1 week it wasn't bad. I wouldn't want to stay here again due to the location - but overall decent if you are in a pinch..

When i first moved to ohio in 2011 i stayed here for 4months. not really knowing the area cause i was new and i actaully felt safe here. There is security and cameras everywhere. I've never had a problem. The people staying there where always friendly to me. You can always find a parking spot. Plus you're close to shopping and giant eagle is real close that you can walk to it. The service was great and the maintence man always came right away if you needed anything to be fixed. So if you need to stay for a week or longer definitley stay here!
