Let me be frank, this was literally the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. This is immediate first reaction to walking into the hotel. The place is so run-down, it's embarrassing to admit we spent over $100 bucks the entire weekend to stay there. I arrived with my boyfriend on Friday due to a wedding that we were attending during the weekend. The place was crawling with people and it felt like we were at the zoo. Not to mention, the noises continued all night. Obviously those "Quiet Hours" signs are NOT cutting it. Also, there were some sketchy kids just hanging out in the parking lot... security anyone? Hello?
The rooms are TERRIBLE. It doesn't even look like they cleaned the bathrooms (I was so grossed out by the way the bathtub looked that I refused to shower in it). And our room faced the LARGE waterpark billboard that changed colors about a million times during the night and the curtains were broken so we had that as a nightlight for two nights.
The rooms were not the worst thing in the place, it was the trashing customer service. Upon my boyfriend getting ready to shower (which since he's a guy he didn't really care about those wonderful unsanitary conditions), he noticed that there was no soap. So I said I'll run down and get some for him since he was already jumping in the shower. I head downstairs and I'm super friendly (obviously there was no reason for me to be rude to the staff) and said,"Hi, I need soap for my room." Without so much as a "Hi," this bigger, tattooed woman rolls her eyes and walks over to a drawer and grabs some and then hands them to me. I completely understand that your day is just terribly busy (judging by how many guests were NOT around) but it's called customer service for a reason. A little smile and friendly attitude would have been nice.
During the day, we kept hearing that people were getting robbed at the hotel. Being that I work from home and I had to take my laptop on this trip, I was a little nervous that I had it there and that someone was using the hotel master key to break into people's rooms... so it was a little hard to have fun when that worry was constantly on my mind.
Check out: So on Sunday, we stopped to check out at the front lobby. I once again dealt with the bigger, tattooed woman (apparently she works in the mornings... which means she should probably get that "beauty sleep" she is in DIRE need judging by the attitude and expressions). The groom's mother was standing there chatting with us about the hotel and the pricing for the rooms each day. She noticed that there was an $8 extra charge for the room and that it was supposed to be $4 dollars less a day. Obviously this was needed to be adjusted. The not-so-lovely woman behind the counter remarked, "I'm no manager or anything but I'll risk my job for $8. I'll just have them take it out a my paycheck." Classy for a customer service representative. "I'm no manager" You serious? Grammar, it's a beautiful thing. I just stared at her in disbelief and she once again rolled her eyes. I can understand her remark being needed for $20-$30, but seriously it was $8. Get over it.
Obviously I didn't get a chance to check out the waterpark considering the operating times are 11a.m. - 9p.m. (which is by far the most ridiculous times I have ever heard of for a "waterpark") and it's another $50 for the passes even if you're staying in the hotel. It would be great to have those passes discounted since we had to stay at the disgusting and questionable rooms that were offered.
If you're looking for a nice, safe, customer friendly place, I would say go somewhere else.
