The lobby was nice and the indoor water park were nice but the rooms were dark, dingy and gross. I even killed a cockroach in the bathroom! No joke. It would be nice if they gave it a facelift but for the price of the room it just wasn't worth the money at all. Also you cannot bring your own into the water park area and the food inside is nasty. I couldnt wait to get up and leave in the morning and cannot wait to get home and shower,.I feel dirty.

This place is a joke of a hotel. The water park was not busy but still had to wait and wait for inner tubes to use on the slides, other than that it wasn't too bad. The real joke is the rooms in the old tower. We stayed right after the water park opened and the room was disgusting. We read that they were all "updated" so we thought we'd try again. Got the kids the Bunk House room and found the top rail of the bunk was missing and another had nails sticking out of it. Had to change rooms at 9:30pm to what was told was a better room "for our trouble". It was the same room one floor up that had no table, chair, ice buckets, cups, coffee maker, but the bunk bed did have the top rail on it so I guess that qualifies as a better room. The HVAC unit didn't have a continuous fan cycle to drown out the road noise from I-70 so none of us could sleep. Packed up at 4:00am and checked out with sincere apologies from the front desk and a promise of a phone call from management that never came. Do yourself a favor and just get day passes to the water park or drive to Newark, Sandusky or Cincinnati and stay at a real resort.

I love this hotel!!! when i stayed there i booked two rooms they were both very clean the staff was very friendly I have stayed at this hotel about three times in the last six months an all three times i never had a problem i definitely recommend this hotel!!!

My family and I booked a night at Fort Rapids since it was in between my home in Pittsburgh and my mom and brother's homes in Cincinnati. We liked the fact they had a suite available with 4 bedrooms (including one with just a bunk bed in it). Our kids are all between the ages of 5-10 so we thought they would burn off some energy at the waterpark before settling down for a movie after dinner and some early Christmas presents.

We were a litte nervous before going since some of the reviews on Trip Advisor were pretty rough. However, we encountered none of the problems mentioned. I think the key may be staying in the "villas" which are obviously much newer than the original "main" hotel. I believe the hotel was/is the Holiday Inn East.

Check in and check out were uneventful. Front desk staff were prompt and helpful.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Pillows were lumpy but acceptable. Room had a small fridge, microwave and dryer. One bedroom had two double beds, and two others had one king each. One king bedroom is in the loft while the other two had full privacy. 3 full baths. Also, sofa had a fold out bed. Nice gas fireplace too.

We did not eat at the hotel but the food looked and smelled decent enough. The bar area was OK though the beer selection was boring.

Arcade is of decent quality. Basically a way to suck $20 out of a family in about 15 minutes!

The waterpack is just fine, particularly for families with kids our age. It was very comparable to the Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, Ohio. Our kids played for 3 hours straight. Waterpark appeared clean and water temp was good.

The bottom line is this place is nothing special but definitely not bad. We will likely return.
