The hotel itself is unassuming but clean and well-kept, but it's the staff who make it worthy of 5 stars.
My husband accidentally left the contents of his wallet ( $230.00 in cash!) on the desk when he checked out. When he got home he realized what a stupid thing he had done, so he called the hotel, thinking that it was gone for good (and that he kind of deserved it...). But the desk clerk said that it was still there, and she Fed-Exed the money back to him. It would have been so easy for someone to have pocketed it and said that it just wasn't there and maybe he left it somewhere else....
He will be happy to stay at the Holiday Inn Mayfield again next time!

This was a great Holiday Inn and a good price. Very clean, nice-sized room with a comfortable bed. The hotel had plenty of parking, a restaurant (which I did not try), a fairly small exercise room, an indoor/outdoor pool, and pleasant staff. The location seemed like a quiet area with a small strip mall nearby with a few shops, a pizza place, and a good middle eastern restaurant. I would stay here again!

I stayed at this Holiday Inn for a night while in the Cleveland area visiting family. This was a reward stay, so I can not comment on the price of the hotel, but I would say that if you have to pay more than $75, you can probably find better options.

Overall, the hotel appears to be nice and clean, though rather dated in the decor. I had a reservation for a King Non Smoking, but the first room I checked into reeked of smoke and had an ashtray in the room. Upon going back down to the front desk they did change my room to a room that smelled fresh.

The room, like the rest of the hotel was clean though dated. The walls had several patched holes from pictures or furniture that were evident. The hotel had the old style comforter rather than the duvets that Holiday Inn Express has. The room was of good size and had the appropriate amenities. The bed really seemed to need to be replaced as you could feel the springs.

The hotel has a restaurant on premises, but I did not try it as I was in town to visit family. There is a small game room, exercise room, indoor / outdoor pool (fairly nice) and outdoor patio area.

There does not appear to be much in in the line of dining outside the hotel in the immediate area.

Staff was all friendly and seems to try hard to make your stay nice.

For the right price, give it a try. This is definitely NOT a newer Holiday Inn.

This was THE BEST Holiday Inn we have ever stayed at. Clean, modern, yet classic decor, with expensive taste yet thrifty price. Has everything you may need: restaurant, bar, swimming indoor and out, excercize room; room with handicap facility has ultra modern roll in shower and updated shower head that suits standing people as well as sitting. The bed was puffed up like the Residence Inns I've stayed at. For the price it was one find I wish I had found earlier when we had to stay overnight for the Cleveland clinic. Its only about 10 miles from the clinic. Gas prices are good in Ohio too, better than NY. Included with our stay we were handed two morning breakfast vouchers for $20 each, which was more than adequate. If there was any drawback it was the air conditioner that was pretty loud in the room. But it was readily overlooked when included with all the great stuff! Thank you Mayfield Holiday Inn!
