“Good Hotel, great location-can be noisy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

We have stayed here before. It is a nice, clean hotel that seems to cater to student groups and families on weekends. The pool area and the halls can be noisy, but otherwise a good choice if you have an early flight.

I'm Platinum with SPG and they always seem to “take care” of me when I stay here. The Starwood level is nothing special and the Executive Lounge charges for any drinks other than soda and water. The Lounge serves some nice snacks for dinner and is good for a quick bite when heading out in the morning. BUT…if you have a little more time in the morning and you can get the front desk to give you a breakfast buffet coupon…use it. It has some nice choices of food.

The work out room is great…but one of the treadmills is having problems with sound. So, try each one out with your headphones before committing to a workout program. They have some nice free weights and nautilus equipment.

The main lobby is newly remodeled and looks great. I hope they start doing the same with the guest rooms as the furniture could use some updating!

I was surprised to note that they are now charging $8.00 per night for parking AND a $3.00 “FACILITY CHARGE” since the properly is located at the airport. Be aware.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. I will be sure to pass on your comments about the breakfast buffet to our Executive Chef and have Engineering look at the treadmills. Guest room renovation will be starting at the end of the year to compliment the new Sheraton bedding program and flat screen TV’s. After months of extensive research on other local hotels and also other airport hotels, in February of this year the hotel implemented a parking fee. The hotel’s Executive Team reviewed all the findings and decided upon an appropriate rate. The facility charge has always been in place and contributes to the airport security and safety forces. Once again, thank you for your comments. We appreciate you staying with us.

On our road trip from Niagara Falls to Chicago this Sheraton was great. Like other reviewers have stated, you wouldn't know you're at an airport other than exiting the parking - very quiet. Everything inside was first class - sleek, large clean rooms with modern decor. It all looked brand new. We stayed here because we got a phenomenal rate ($60) through a bidding website. We had to pay $8 a night to park, but that's understandable or else people would leave cars there for flights. The location was totally safe - not shady. The beds were large and comfy, hallways quiet - everything you want for a quick night stay. Of the 5 hotels we stayed at this was our 2 kid's favorite pool. Fairly large, and clean with shallow and deep ends - and best of all: deserted. That's the beauty of picking a business class hotel; it's not inundated with other families. Mostly people coming in for a meeting.

The kids also liked that the pool stayed open pretty late. Pools that close at 8 or 9 makes it hard to squeeze in 1 more swim after dinner.

Since it's at the airport there is nothing to do nearby, but there are many restaurants and shopping malls 5 minutes down the road. The front desk / concierge were quite helpful giving us directions and the standard printed sheet of options. We had a very nice meal at Max & Erma's restaurant - try the Watermelon Lemonade! Downtown Cleveland was an easy drive about 20 minutes away.

All in all it was a great stay and we'll be back!

Cleveland's airport is small compared to other larger cities and hence only really has the Sheraton which services the airport. That said, you'd never know you're near an airport except for the fact that you need to circle the baggage claim/departures in order to access the hotel parking lot! Never heard a plane take off/land - very quite. The hotel has all the ammenities you could ask for - pool, jacuzzi, excellent gym facilities, Starbucks, restaurant, games area for kids, internet access (free), meeting rooms/ballroom, on-site parking, etc. I'm a Starwoods Gold member, so had a room on the club floor (9th floor). This floor has a pantry that has free breakfast in the morning and hors d'eurves in the afternoon, plus a computer & printer for quick internet access. I also received a free breakfast buffet with the package I booked, so food was covered all around. Sorry, but your key card will only grant you access to your floor, so if you're not on the club floor, you're out of luck! So try to book a room on the 9th floor! The hotel is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Cleveland, but it was easy enough to drive into town to check out the attractions (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland Indians, etc.) Would definitely recommend a stay here if you're in Cleveland.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the 9th floor (Club level)

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. The hotel is accessible without having to go anywhere near the terminal, and I am sorry that you experienced this confusion entering our property. We appreciate you being a Starwood Member and are pleased you were able to experience all the wonderful amenities the hotel has to offer. The brand as a whole has gone through an extensive renovation and the choices that are offered at our hotels throughout the country are top-notch.

The fact that this hotel was next to the airport made me a little hesitant, especially since we were on a long drive and just using the room for the night. Other travelers noted that the ac was a little loud, but it was fine b/c we didn't hear a single airplane.

I booked ahead and got an awesome rate, even though parking was $8, which I missed when I booked through SPG. One note - the parking lot sucks - it was nearly full since it's also long term parking for the airport - and it's FULL OF POTHOLES. Not just regular potholes, but deep, car swallowing potholes. You'd think they could put some of the money they're charging to good use and re-pave.

Stayed here on a recent visit to Cleveland and was very pleased with the service and the fact that it is literally connected to the airport. The shuttle around the airport took a bit longer than expected both ways, but overall the stay was good. Decent place to be if you're on a quick turn and need access to the airport. Also, given that CLE seems to have huge security lines, the edge on being close to the airport is an added plus to shave some time.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding your recent stay. I was especially pleased to read about the wonderful service you received while here. Being the only hotel on airport grounds offers the convenience of not dealing with traffic or trying to find a parking spot for those early morning flights. It’s usually something you never think about- being rushed before a trip- but the more you can do to prevent any additional stress the better.

There are a number of hotels that claim to be near the airport, but you can't get any closer than the Sheraton Cleveland Airport. I love staying at Sheraton's and considering I had a 7am flight, I had no hesitations about booking a room.

Pro's--Location, location, location. The airport shuttle is always available and I was at the departure door in less than five minutes.
I was really impressed with the look of the lobby and bar area. There was a screen by the front desk with updated airport arrival/departure times. There was also a small coffee shop near the front desk where you can buy Starbucks coffee and snacks.
The room I stayed in appeared clean and modern-looking. Sheraton beds are always comfortable and this was no exception.

Con's--The room I stayed in was small and cramped. The heating/cooling unit was similar to units found in discount hotels even though the temperature is adjusted using the control panel on the wall. The A/C was so loud I had to turn the volume up on the television.
Perhaps I received a smaller room since I booked using Expedia/Hotels.com.
This room was appropriate for a one-night stay but anything longer would be claustrophobic.
