“Just what you would expect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

This Ritz is in a seemingly older downtown (well located) building. You hand your car over or exit the cab on the ground floor and go to the nearby elevators to the sixth floor lobby. Before you get to the elevator, you have multiple offers of assistance. I like a place that makes you feel special.
The lobby level. which also contains superbly furnished meeting rooms and discretely placed computer carols (free usage) is perfectly appointed. The bar is not to be misssed, resembling a large and very comfortable sitting room. The staff is out of this world in their abilities to make the perfect drink and to add to the overall experience of friendly comfort.
I was lucky enough to be assigned to a room on the club floor which is the second or third best hotel room I have ever had. It was large, nicley furnished and had a very spacious bathroom and a comfy bed. The floor has a private lounge, with a nice selection of wine, great service and delectable treats all day long. Stay on this floor and two things are certain--you will gain weight and you will be pampered.
Speaking of weight, the hotel does have an awesome gyn and spa on the seventh floor. There is ample weight lifting equipment.
If you go to Cleveland and have the means, stay at this hotel. Period.

My husband and I were staying in town for the weekend and picked the Ritz Carlton. He had jury duty and so we had a select few hotels to choose from and so we decided to try this one out. We were wondering how it would be but it turned out to be wonderful. The moment we walked in we were greeted by a friendly and warm staff. Because of diet restrictions we had brought our own food to eat in the room but needed silverware and a microwave and they immediately brought us up both. We also brought some DVD's to watch but there was no DVD player in the room but immediately after asking they brought one up for us too. As much free coffee, tea, water bottles and nice tea/coffee cups with lids. The pool was one of the biggest indoor pools ive seen in a hotel in awhile. Yes, not humongous but still spacious enough for a good swim and the hot tub was very large and nice too. Loved the gym room and the treadmills! Everyday, all the staff we ran into were so friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Room was beautiful and I wanted to take the big king bed home. The bed and linens were so plush and comfortable. Everything was super clean too. We could not have asked for a better stay. If I could only say one improvement it would be to turn the pool temp up a degree or two, it took awhile to get use to! ;0) We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Park in tower city parking for only $12 a day weekdays and $6 a day weekends instead of $24 a day th...

Pros:
- elegant, old world hotel in DT
- perfect service and hospitality
- comfortable bed w/fine linens
- w/in walking distance to good restaurants (e.g., Michael Symon's Lola on 4th Street)
- metro is in the attached shopping "mall"

Cons:
- DT Cleveland is undergoing a renaissance slowly so it was a little blah in the general vicinity of the hotel. you need to seek out the 'cool' spots in town
- the attached mall used to host high end shopping but doesn't anymore

The only hotel I would consider in DT Cleveland!

Room Tip: Opt for a suite which is nice for a stay longer than a couple of days. Good to have a place to ente...

I consider the Ritz Carlton hotels to be top-notch and so my expectations regarding the rooms, food and service are relative high - I was not disappointed. Having arrived after midnight, access to 24-hour room service was welcomed. I used room service a couple of times and it was always delivered in less than 30 minutes. As expected, the staff - front desk to housekeeping to restaurant - provided excellent service. Attentive, helpful, courteous. I had an excellent dinner in the Muse and ... the service was exceptional (I believe the waiter name was Roderick). The nightly room rates are not inexpensive but reasonable for the accommodations and service.

Hotel was nice compared to the Marriott a few blocks away. The hottub is very clean, as well as the sauna and steam room. The restaurant, Muze, was also good! I definitely enjoyed my business stay.

From the moment you pull up to valet, to check-in, room service, and all, this hotel is a class act! Every member of the Ritz Carlton team was polite, and professional. The rooms are well-maintained and very comfortable to relax in. This was my second time staying here, and won't think of staying anywhere else when in Cleveland!

Hotel service was excellent, staff courteous and prompt. The food was very good and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in town. Lots of other restaraunts, shopping and necessity stores in the immediate area. My room was very clean. I highly recommend this hotel.
