We are currently in Cleveland for the next 2 days...for business & a funeral. We checked in...we were told the hotel was at 22% occupied. I wonder then WHY did we get a small room with a view of a lower roof? Wouldnt it be a great time to WOW a customer? Give them a room with a view of anything...except a roof? Especially when we asked about the fireworks tomorrow night as we checked in? We were told there were NO king beds in the rooms with a view. Perhaps.
HINT HINT..management...maybe you want to school the front desk on better room selection/assignment...especially when due to occupantcy...you have the ability to do so.
We moved to the lobby bar...met Maurice. Drinks came with ease..later appeared chips w/blue cheese. We planned to leave the hotel for dinner...but Maurice made it easy to stay. Offered bar menu and then Dinner menu. Excellent meal...ribeye and salmon was served. Excellent service.
Thanks Maurice...maybe management will have you show the front desk how to make the customer WANT to stay...not just be another hotel we had to stay at for a meeting and a funeral.

Here at Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, our guest rooms are assigned taking into consideration a number of factors. We're terribly sorry that you were disappointed with your accommodations. Actually each of our 491 guest rooms are completely unique in layout and square footage. We hope in the future, should you be unhappy with your particular guest room, that you let our front desk team know at that time so that we can attempt to offer different accommodations. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time with Maurice; he's most definitely a staple at our Lobby Court and we love that he was able to turn your day around. We had a wonderful weekend at the Renaissance. The staff was excellent! The hotel has real class old charm you don't find in newer hotels. The room was fantastic thanks to Sylvia Croom
and her staff. The complimentary amenities were way beyond our expectations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cleveland. My wife and I will never forget our stay at this great location!

The architecture and chandeliers are magnificent. The room I stayed smelled bad, to the point I woke up to the smell of feces at one point. Then I realized that somehow the bathroom activities somewhere else were in communication. I did not need an alarm that day. The room was also sticky, poorly cleaned and had a smell independent of the Toilet one. The food was superb. Staff very nice. Refuse room 1130, disgusting.

Beautiful, elegant hotel, large charming rooms with city view. It reminded us of Europe. it was fun & easy to take the train from the airport which stops almost at the hotel's doorstep in the adjoining mall. The breakfast staff at the hotel dining room were very friendly and accommodating. Great location. We loved our stay in Cleveland.

this hotel was perfect for our one night trip to Cleveland. the location was ideal. it was near multiple different restaurants and the casino. we were in Cleveland over night for a baseball game and the location near the stadiums couldn't have been any better! the staff was helpful and the rooms were large and clean. made us want to spend another day in Cleveland!

National conference in Cleveland at their new convention center, hotel was a bit of a walk, but a trolley came by every 10 minutes or so. Hotel didn't seem prepared for warmer weather and A/C not working well. Hotel bar closes early even when people are still in there. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Cleveland is definitely not tobacco friendly and neither is this hotel.

Arrived to find valet parking full, was directed to a nearby self-park lot. Valet held my bags while I parked so I didn't have to carry them from the parking lot to the hotel. I reserved, in advance, a room with two queen/double beds. Checked into an extremely small, directly next to the elevator, noisy room which had only one double bed. Contacted the front desk and was advised, "room types are taken as requests and are not guaranteed". I was given a cot which left absolutely no space in the room to walk. This experience was extremely disappointing and, had I known the room I reserved was not available prior to making the drive to Cleveland, I would not have made the reservation or stayed at this location. At check out I asked the front desk for a comment card but was advised they did not have them. Staff at both the hotel and at the self park lot were friendly, the room was old but clean.

Room Tip: Request some sort of verification that upon check in you will be guaranteed to be given the room typ...

The information you were provided regarding room assignments was in fact correct. Due to the historic nature of our beautiful hotel, it is fact that of the 491 guest rooms and suites, no two are identical in size or layout. When guests request a particular room, we work diligently to accommodate, however sometimes we simply are not able. This is why we emphasize that rooms are not guaranteed at booking. We're very sorry that we fell short in your case as we know this posed an inconvenience. Regarding your request for a comment card, you are correct that this is something we did not have. However due to your request, we are in process of having them printed and they will very soon be available for guests such as yourself. Once again, we sincerely apologize.
