“Beautiful hotel in older building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

I stayed here one night...actually wish it were more! The building is an older building downtown, which actually concerned me a bit, but once inside I was relieved. The lobby area is older looking, but classic, lots of marble, a fountain.

The room I had was very sizable, nice working space, big king bed, very comfortable overall. Towels were soft and abundant. The bathroom was older in style you could tell...but updated to be clean and convenient. Decorations in the room were modest, but again it really was a great stay.

There are a lot of walkable places around, including the casino next door.

One annoyance...parking. Couldn't valet, nobody there, garage is a bit confusing on getting from parking spot to hotel. A bit of a pain.

Great hotel beautiful lobby, check in was quick. Our room was very nice newly updated and big, large walk in closet, nice white marble bathroom (1118). We had a great view of the city, I loved that the window oped a few inches for fresh air. Short walk indoors to the casino. Also did the electronic concierge service and all request were fulfilled. Over all great hotel!

Only downfall... On the walk to the mall/casino there were a lot of homeless people begging. :/. We had said to a man "sorry we don't have cash" and he actually spit on the floor behind us. (Disgusting I was so mad!). I didn't feel safe walking around in the indoor mall/movie area.

Just got back from a family trip to Cleveland. We stayed at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. From the moment we arrived we were treated like gold. The staff was very friendly and exceeded our expectations. The hotel was beautiful. We needed to take a relaxing break from a long winter, and thanks to our stay at the Renaissance we had a great time. Thanks!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

I had the opportunity to stay at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel last week. My GPS guided me to the front door, which is a plus considering the hotel is downtown. As others have mentioned parking is a pain, but once you are inside everything else is worth while. I had the valet guy park my car, which was $30.00, but since it was snowing, cold with wind blowing the price was reasonable. The front desk staff was very friendly and provided me with information on where to eat. The front door has stairs which could make it difficult for people with luggage.

I am a Platinum Premier Member with Marriott and was upgraded to a suite on the 10th floor. The club lounge was on the 12th floor. The suite was various nice and spacious with a Jacuzzi, and double shower. My profile which calls for extra towels and feather pillows was not followed, but it was late and I was tired so I decided my bother housekeeping. I noticed the room appeared in need of renovation. The carpet was pretty worn and stained, the doors on the cabinets had been pulled loose and was in need of painting.

I was very impressed with the club lounge; it was very large with separate rooms for guest to enjoy a drink and conversation. I arrived too late for the appetizers, but the leftovers looked delicious. I did enjoy some excellent dessert and the gentleman managing the club for the evening was very nice. I understand the evening and breakfast has both hot and clod items available.

When leaving in the morning I called down for my car and it still took the valet people about 20 minutes to bring my car around. The confessed that because of limited space even when someone calls down to have their car brought around, they do not get the cars until someone shows up with a ticket. While this hotel needs some improvement, I think it is worthy of the Marriott Flag.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor

Hello FJ and thank you for the thorough review! We appreciate all feedback from our guests as this allows us to continually improve! Regarding our entrance off of Superior, please note that guest elevators are located directly behind the grand staircase. We also wanted to sincerely apologize for overlooking your request for towels and pillows and wish you would have indeed brought this oversight to our attention so that we could make the situation right for you. Thank you again for staying and we hope to see you again soon.

The hotel is very nice. Great location. Room was very spacious. Bed was comfortable. Beautiful lobby with live music playing while we were there. Very helpful staff. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area. The only negative thing about our room was that we could hear a lot of traffic noise from our room.

Love staying here. Can walk right into the casino. Rooms are clean and updated. Parking is awful. Even if you are attempting to valet...they run out of room and you have to find somewhere else to park. We stay here a lot and about half the time we are struggling to find somewhere to park.
