This is a historic hotel located in Tower City in downtown Cleveland. I grew-up in Cleveland, so maybe I'm a little biased, but still love this place for it's history, location, and for the restful nature it provides. I stay here everytime I'm in town. So many good things, the rooms are pretty large, along with the bathrooms. A nice bar area in a comfortable & fantastic lobby along with a great breakfast buffet/ restaurant with windows overlooking Public Square. They even give you a strawberry smoothie in the mornings at breakfast, a sweet little touch. Ask for a room overlooking the Square, looks so magical at nighttime. Location is one thing I value a lot and the Renaissance provides it. You have everything at your fingertips, a bus/trolley stop right outside the front door. The trolley is a free circulator bus, which goes around to different downtown locations. We took it to see The Science Center and The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, very nice. At the Square is the Health Line, which goes straight down Euclid Ave. for a small fare. We took this to Playhouse Square for a play one evening. I was told you can also take it down to the museums at University Circle. (my next trip). Inside Tower City you can shop, go to the movies, eat at the Hard Rock or menu court. Whenever I go to a concert, which I did in Apr. to see Bruce Springsteen, I just walked from the hotel to a walkway inside the Tower to the Q arena ( all inside). You can do the same for the new Horseshoe Casino too. A nice treat too for $5 is take an elevator up to the 32nd observation floor to see out over downtown Cleveland. They have restored the floor to Art Deco era. When I leave the hotel, I just go downstairs to the rapid station and for another $5, get directly to the airport in around 20 min. So, I don't ever need to get a car! I love this town and hotel!
