“Best place to stay for the rock and roll hall of fame”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2010

We traveled with our 2 sons for the rock and roll hall of fame- great location, staff and rooms. Due to prior comments I booked concierge level room with lakeview and this was well worth it. Went to the concierge lounge every morning for breakfast-easily saved the extra $20 it cost for the room.Staff was great. Pete in the concierge lounge was fantastic!!

I spent a couple of nights at the Marriott Key Center and it was clean, modern, & quiet. The staff was friendly. The location was great for downtown access and activities. Making the staff put the name of their favorite musical band or artist on their name badge was a bit of force hipness, but otherwise it was a nice place to stay. Their internet was a little pokey, but that seems typical of hotel internet everywhere...

This was a great hotel central to most of downtown Cleveland. Room was nice and clean with a pretty view of the lake. We stay here almost every time we're in town as it's 4star level at a reasonable price. It's also where visiting pro athletes stay. We didn't see anyone but could have been a fun bonus!

Everything about the Marriott at Key Center was great. We booked the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame package that included free parking, breakfast for 2 and 2 tix to the Hall of Fame. I was very impressed with Cleveland (never been there before) and everything was within walking distance (stadiums, arenas, Hall of Fame, shopping, restaurant row, etc.). The hotel lobby was expansive and the rooms were very clean, large and had everything you need (including a mini fridge). The beds were very comfortable and the only negative was that the tub did not drain properly. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at the Key Center Marriott one night in July, largely for the purpose of visiting the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. The hotel is very nice, with clean, upscale rooms. If you get a chance, request a lake view room, something above the 15th floor -- it's a nice luxury.

I'd also recommend the short walk down to the lake area. Very nice.

The pool area is small but OK. There's a nice jacuzzi and sauna, though the pool area does not have any chaise lounge chairs, which is a bit disappointing.

The hotel can be a bit tough to find. The main entrance (and valet parking) is on the east side of the building.

We ate at the hotel restaurant -- OK food, typically overpriced. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A DINNER SPOT: walk over to 4th street. It's a 5 minute walk, and it will send you to a pedestrian only street, replete with neat local restaurants sure to please.

Finally, a tip for guests visiting the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, about a six block walk from the hotel: be sure to check out Marriott's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Package. At the time of this writing, it was $199, and included the room, 2 adults tickets to the museum, valet parking, and breakfast buffet, A really good deal.

All in all, the Marriott at Key Center is a good place. A bit expensive without the package deal, but with the waterfront area and 4th street nearby, there are some nice perks here.

We stayed at this hotel for one night, taking advantage of a package deal that grouped together two tickets to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, free valet parking, and free breakfast.

The room was clean and comfortable, with some nice thematic decoration (e.g. an illustration of a guitar in the bathroom). The lobby is really nice, too. And there is a large, well-stocked convenience store in the lobby that is open late. We found it to be really helpful.

The breakfast offered a good selection, from fruit, yogurt, bread and cereal to hot foods and an omelet station. I think I would have thought the buffet was a good deal even if it wasn't included in the package. And while we didn't have time to hang out in the bar, we did notice a nice crowd for a World Cup match. It seemed like a fun place.

The service was solid, whether it was helping with the large amount of luggage we had, or getting directions to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc. One weird thing was that there was no do not disturb sign in the room. We had to get one from the front desk.

The location was central. We walked to both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Progressive Field.

Next time we are in Cleveland, I am sure we will stay at the Marriott Key Center.
