“Don't go out of your way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014 NEW

This place is trying to be trendy. Small portions and high prices. We had the $14 shrimp entree and it came with 5 pieces of shrimp. The pork tamale was flavorful but not large. The guacamole was the best item we had but who wants to fill up with chips and guacamole. The worst part was a dinner for 4 was $100 and it took us almost an hour to get our dinner after we ordered. I don't think I would go here a 2nd time.

“Worth The Wait”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014 NEW

Tried to call for a reservation, they were booked. They did accept walk-ins. It was an hour wait (on a Saturday), but worth it! We had the wild boar and chicken pomegranate entrees and they were superb.

“Make a Reservation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

New to Cleveland, saw Momocho featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, and had to try it! Everything was great, but I can highly recommend the goat cheese guac, the Machaca and the tamales.. YUM. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

I tried getting in on a Friday night and they were fully booked through Saturday. Went early Sunday with a reservation, and it was less busy.

“Absolute perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

You have to go to Momocho. Be prepared to wait a while for a table but it will no doubt be worth it. This is an intimate, special dining experience, whether it's your first time here or your fiftieth. Everything on the menu, from the drinks to the appetizers to the taquitos are sheer perfection. Particular favorites are the margarita trio sampler and the guacamole trio sampler, as well as the machaca and atun taquitos. So, so, so good!

“Fantastic and Unique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

A colleague and I grabbed dinner at Momocho while in Cleveland for a conference this past week. We had read the reviews but were still surprised to find a line forming at 4:45pm on a Tuesday afternoon (they open at 5). We were seated quickly by a friendly staff. The restaurant is sort of "trendy bar scene." It would be fun for friends, but not ideal for romantic dates or serious business meetings. The menu is mainly centered around a wide variety of guacamole types and a bunch of different "taquitos." These are hard to categorize, but are something of a combination of a fajita and a taco. We took the waitress's recommendation and had the beef brisket and the pork. Thanks to the 5-6pm happy hour, these were 2-for-1. Both were generous portions and cooked to perfection. The flavors were excellent with beautiful presentation. While this isn't traditional Mexican food, it is an outstanding foodie-take on Latin American cuisine. I would definitely eat at Momocho when in Cleveland again.
