“Yummy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We were in town for an overnight visit. So glad we had dinner here. The service was great, everyone was nice to us and the food was excellent. We had the scallops for an app (note there are only 2), lobster bisque, salad, grouper entree and a seafood "medley" (lobster, scallops & shrimp). We really enjoyed everything. One thing to note - it's very expensive. But I'd still go back.

“Two Nights in A Row....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

I was in Cleveland in late October for a conference, and the better dining options near our hotel (The Renaissance) included the Blue Point Grille. My first visit (on the opening night of my conference), was in a party of 15 or so, ordering from a limited menu.

You know how that can go, right? In this case it actually went very well - the menu included salmon, grouper, scallops, filet. Despite my misgivings about ordering scallops this far from the Atlantic ocean, they were actually quite good.

My second visit, the very next night, was with a party of 9, ordering from the regular menu. My advice to you is as follows: This is a seafood restaurant. Order seafood. If you want steak, the XO Prime Steaks is across the street (see my review).

The table worked its way through lobster rangoons, firecracker chicken spring rolls, and cornmeal crusted calamari appetizers, all consumed with gusto. For the second night in a row, I had the excellent bisque (tomato the first night, lobster the second) - if it is on the menu, order it.

Dinner was seared yellowfin tuna, prepared exactly as promised (15-30 seconds per side in a screaming hot pan - still cool and sashimi on the interior. A fresh, sweet piece of fish, done right.

The rest of the table was equally pleased with their orders: Grouper; a "never frozen" king crab special that was expensive, but featured enormous crab legs that the diners reported were outstanding; salmon.

To the everlasting wonder of my dining companions, I finished the night with an absinthe, prepared the proper way with sugar cube, absinthe spoon, and absinthe fountain.

Cast aside your preconceived notions about seafood; really good seafood can be found only a couple of blocks from the shores of Lake Erie.

“Always amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

We used to visit this location every other Sunday for happy hour. We always ordered the same thing (tomato soup, calamari and the walleye sandwich) so we knew it would always be good, plus the bartender was amazing! We pretty much became friends since we saw each other so often.

We hadn't been back in a year or so but we were still impressed this past weekend. We enjoyed a lovely happy hour at the bar. This location is in a great location with valet parking as well as street and parking lot parking. The food and service here is always amazing.

We will continue to recommend this location and we will continue to visit it as often as possible.

“Food, atmosphere, service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

this place has it all. service is about as good as it gets - from the moment you enter untl you depart. menu has lots of great options - especially seafood with enough steaks/chops/chicken/pasta to keep everyone happy. very good bar and wine list. great atmosphere for a business dinner or romantic night out. this place is often quite busy so i recommend a reservation. however we have dropped in from time to time and somehow we get a table with only a short wait. highly recommend.

“Delicious seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013 via mobile

We went for a late dinner with friends on a Friday night. We were seated immediately. Drinks were brought quickly. Great wine list. The seafood tower was amazing. Many choices of cold seafood. The lobster bisque was wonderful. Calamari appetizer was done perfectly.
