Visited with good sized party -- all arriving separately -- and as it was a Thursday, it worked out perfectly as the room was mostly empty.
Single open room, not large, including bar area, and as the weather had finally broken the sidewalk tables were mostly full.
Instead of the typical basket o' bread they serve BISCUITS! And what a wonderful surprise they were. Warm, nice crust outside, super tender inside and they were accompanied by a compound butter made with rosemary, as well as fruit spread, which my dining companions identified as apple butter.
The waitperson answered all of our questions, checked back with us frequently, and everything came out perfectly. There is an extensive vegetarian menu, as well as great side items.
We had an order of fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were presented beautifully and arrived sizzling hot.
My sister and I each had one of the salads, and split a side of the cheese grits, and honestly -- while the salad was terrific, it could not hold a candle to the grits!
I was in Cleveland from Florida, where I have lived for 30 years, and a co-worker of mine was there from New Orleans, where she was born and raised, and while traditional Southern favorites with a twist, all of the twists were fabulous!
Would definitely recommend, and will definitely be back --
