“Never new how cool this was!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

My mom and me decided to visit the cemetery one fall day. I was in shock on how beautiful this place was with all the different color trees and different cemetery stones and how peaceful. The momentum looks creepy and scary on the outside but the inside is beautiful and awesome. So much hand crafted art work went into it. Plus learned a ton about the president!

“Impressive!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

The architecture and size of the monument was impressive! The cemetery is beautiful. If you walk to the top of the monument you can see a great view of downtown and the lake. There was also a guide there who was able to give information and answer questions.

“Just Gorgeous! A Must See!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Hard to believe that a monument this beautiful was built for a president that was only in office for 200 days. A must see. The stain glass windows and the mosaic work is breathtaking! The outside is misleading, you look at it and think there isn't much there, but once you get inside, it is so beautiful. The docent was very knowledgeable and gave us so much information, he was wonderful with our 10 year old daughter. She was enthralled. Save some extra time to walk around the cemetery and enjoy the many beautiful grave markers.

“Very surprised how much time we spent there.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

I thought I would stop and shoot a couple pictures with the kids and be on our way. The guide was very informative and kept the discussion to the level of the audience. Being able to climb the stairs and see the dome up close and then go out on the deck and see the city was way more than I thought it would be. They we stopped at a few of the other famous people in the some cemetery. There is also a chapel that was designed by Tiffany and Co of New York. That was just gorgeous. Like I said I was surprised how much time we did end up spending there.

“Inspiring.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

This was a beautiful monument, and the docent was very informative. I found it interesting that Garfield himself was not a fan of big monuments such as this. I wish that the park rangers in the monument were able to stamp National Parks passports at the monument.
