We visited Cleveland to see an Indians game (major league baseball) and to visit the Great Lakes Science Center and the nearby steamship William G. Mather museum. This hotel provided an excellent base for such a stay in Cleveland. We walked everywhere. We stayed for two nights with a package that included breakfast for all four of us (2 adults and kids aged 9 and 11) each day. The breakfast included a buffet but also allowed for ordering of custom extras like waffles and omelettes (you pick the ingredients). We only ate breakfast at the hotel and we enjoyed it very much. I also tried the bar, which made a pretty good margarita and served nice wings. Our 4th floor room was clean and comfortable and had free internet access. The pool is quite small. This hotel is well situated to see anything downtown. If you are going to Cleveland to see the Indians, however, this is a fantastic place to stay (right across the street from Progressive Field). I would highly recommend it.

I say average because we didn't request anything out of the ordinary, or see anything extravagant so it was just an average hotel to us..

We were in town for the Cleveland VS Padres games, and everyone was really nice. They let us check in a couple hours early, so that was nice.

Location was great for us. We were able to park at the hotel, then walk to the game, and the bars after. The locals were nice to us, even though our team won that night , (most fans, don't like fans of the opposing team) so we still had a great time with them.

Nice, clean hotel and secure setting. I disagree with other reviewers - I walked half a mile from the hotel, around Progressive Field, to a restaurant and felt quite safe. But it was in the daylight. Hotel bar had a nice atmosphere. Breakfast in the morning was good and decent value. Our room was clean and had a nice view of Progressive Field. It was easy on-off from the interstate, so I'll definitely stay here next time I'm going through Cleveland.

Booked the HGI Cleveland for a weekend stay and for under $90 we received a great value. We were upgraded to a spacious two room suite and the extra room was really appreciated. The suite came with a refrigerator and microwave. The suite was in very good condition as was the hotel in general. During our stay we visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the hotel provided a complementary shuttle to the museum. Since it was a nice day we walked back to the hotel and it took approximately 20 minutes. The hotel is also close to professional sports stadiums and arenas and Cleveland State University. The hotel charges $16/day for parking in an uncovered lot at the rear of the hotel. There is easy access into and out of parking lot using your room key. Throughout our stay the staff was very friendly and helpful. Only complaints were that high speed internet access is not wireless and the fitness room is small and cramped with the equipment it has. This hotel really delivered for the price.
