“This is Just My Subjective Insight:”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

I was just searching for a place to sleep and found that Flex provided a nice quiet room and one day pass for just $40. I also took advantage of the facilities very interesting accommodations. It wasn't very crowded on the day I went; however, there were many young and handsome men to check out. You must don either a bath towel or a bikini-type underwear while exploring the facility. The bikini-type underwear is highly suggested along with shower shoes (flip-flops). All of your socially interactive needs are either available for free or at a small cost. There were a lot of different body types but I preferred the leaner guys especially the ones that were not inhibited to show it off. Although I'm 50, I still have a nice lean body and look like I'm in my 30's. I neither had a problem interacting socially nor physically. I was there just one night and had a very fun time. I rented a quiet room which unfortunately was quite the opposite; however, I am assuming that the quiet room is better than one of the small cot rooms. You can also have exhibition physical interaction in the dark area which I found to be arousing. I would really like to be there on a night when it is crowded. Their web site needs to be interactive and updated hourly indicating what the current population is within the facility and any current events. It would be nice if the stairs had an escalator. They're like climbing a mountain with stairs. My original tour was very limited, swift, and uninviting. I did receive an apology from another employee who witnessed my tour. The guy who apologized gave me another tour with many details. The second guy was so hot. I wish I could have interacted with him....

We stayed from Thursday - Sunday in April 2012. We were not expecting much from a bathhouse for a room but thought it might be interesting. The room was surprising. Bed was comfortable, decent dressers and full bath with shower. Room had a TV as well with all the main channels and two resort porn channels. The room as expected was not the most quiet room in the world but the resort was clean and comfortable and we could escape to our room when we wanted to. Main dislike was that we had to turn in our room keys whenever we left the resort. Ample parking, Resort is huge. Indoor and outdoor pools, we would like to go back when the weather is warm to enjoy the outside areas. There is also a bar that serves bar food. Burgers and the like. This was also better than we anticipated.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms a little further from the noise of the DJ. This will allow you to sleep a bit better...

For the unfamiliar -- While also a hotel, Flex is a gay bathhouse --- Men Only!

At 50,000 square feet, I would guess this is the largest bathhouse in North America -- perhaps the world. A former Greyhound office and bus terminal, the facility has been restored with a similar aesthetic.

There is an enormous gym, a large pool, jacuzzi, sauna, a large maze-like steam room, a massive lounge, a bar where they serve food and drink, an outdoor pool, an outdoor "beach" (a patio with sand), lockers, private rooms, hotel rooms, as well as several 'play' areas.

I very much appreciated the fact that one could rent hotel rooms. The hotel rooms were in the $120-150 range (including tax, etc.) and are not a bad price considering all that the facility has to offer. Certainly better than paying similar rates at another hotel in Cleveland. The room was very clean, carpeted, and quiet. It included its own private bathroom and a television with multiple cable channels.

In the hotel room, I could faintly hear the music coming from the rest of the club -- I was able to sleep through it just fine, but I could see that being a problem for some folks.

I found the rest of the complex to be generally clean and well maintained, and the staff to be cordial. There were some areas that could be improved however.

There weren't that many men there. I checked in on a Saturday afternoon and stayed through Sunday morning and I would guess there was no more than 40 men in the entire facility at any given time. In a 50,000 square foot facility that felt sparse.

The drainage in the steam room was not in great working order, with several standing puddles throughout (gross!). And I found the flooring to be very uncomfortable. It was mostly an unswept coarse industrial tile that felt uncomfortable in bare feet.

I also found the lighting in the 'play' areas to be far too dim -- but I realize that many folks prefer it that way.

But overall, this is a spectacular facility and I certainly had a fun visit. I'd highly recommend it.

Room Tip: If noise is a concern, ask for a quieter room.
