“High quality, fine dining experience. Amazing service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

The first thing you see when you walk in is a wide open view of the kitchen. Nothing to hide, open and honest. The food was sophisticated, creative, and beyond delicious.

The wait staff was amazingly attentive and knowledgeable. The waiters have a finely tuned system of signals and there wasn't one second that we didn't have plates full of bread and glasses full of water.

I highly recommend this restaurant for an upscale and pampered experience. Start with the charcuterrie as well and if you're there on Monday, get the coq au vin!

“Great lunch!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

For the past several years I eat here every time that I visit Cleveland. The restaurant is in a big old house in the middle of the CWRU campus.

As usual, the staff was very courteous. The person I dined with is a regular so everyone on the staff knows him (as well as many of the other patrons!). This time I ordered grilled salmon with lentils and a side of braised kale. The food was superb -- the salmon was grilled to perfection. We also enjoyed great French coffee after our meal.

This was another great experience at L'Albatros. I look forward to returning on my next visit to Cleveland!

“Taste of France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

This resturant is a hidden gem. It is situated in a lovely area away from downtown. Our meal was wonderful. There was a little confusion over a missing dish and it was corrected quickly. We loved the strong French theme in the food. The cheese plate was a true hit. The entrees of seafood were outstanding. We would definately visit again.

“Lunch divine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

I've only had the pleasure of having lunch here and as a solo guest, I choose the bar for seating. That's when the fun starts. Wines are offered by the glass or bottle, but the choices are huge. And the vintages showcase a very smart and urbane wine director. The Vouvray is creamy and perfect. The Carneros is oh so fine and the Pinot Noir from France is extra special. The menu changes daily with specials and each and every soup I've tried is spot on! The foie gras and chicken liver pate...the mussels frites, the burgers with a variety of cheeses on top...all this and more and each dish is sensational. Say hi to Gennifer at the bar.....she gets what customer service is all about.

“Outstanding mussels!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

My friend and I are in Cleveland for just one night and tried L'Albatross on the recommendations in trip adviser. Great job everyone! It was delicious. Food and service very good. The restaurant is in a large old house within the confines of Case Western U. Easy to find and charming, small rooms of five or six tables so even though it was modern decor without sound absorbing materials, it was quiet. The mussels and pommes frites were quite yummy - very flavorful and just the right amount of garlic. Visited with John, the GM of the restaurant - lived and worked in Chicago learning the trade at Charlie Trotters! I'd go back and recommend it.
