“Great art collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Such a wonderful art museum with great permanent collection - and free! Only the temporary or special exhibits have a fee. The location is nice with other cultural attractions within walking distance.

People associate Cleveland with the Rock & Roll Museum but this art museum should be on the "must see" attraction list. It is such a delightful surprise to have a museum with this high caliber of permanent collection available for locals and visitors alike - without admission. The space is nice and staff is helpful and friendly.

Would definitely recommend. Would absolutely return.

“World Class Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Being a native of Cleveland, I have visited the Art Museum since I was a little girl and I have always loved it - beautiful building, great art collection, and lovely grounds. With its new additions, it is now spectacular. When we walked into the door from the circle, we entered a spacious foyer with Gallery One on the left. We enjoyed the collections in this Gallery very much. it displayed one of the most eclectic groupings of art I have every seen and was presented with very well done educational materials. One could bring a class here and see only that one gallery. Straight ahead is a view of the 1916 building, with its sparkling white marble facade intact. However, the new entrance and gallery and the original building are tied together with a magnificent arched glass ceiling. This atrium was not only wonderful to look at but also contained some large and interesting artwork. We chose to see the newer east wing galleries which displayed the Museum's wonderful collection of 20th century and 21st century art. We especially enjoyed the impressionists and the very contemporary artists. The final positive attribute of the Cleveland Museum of Art is that admission is free to all.

“Impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

This museum is a hidden gem in Cleveland who knew such a great, free museum existed in Cleveland. This museum rivals the Smithsonian museums. It has some great art, artifacts, and beautiful architecture. This was a highlight of our getaway weekend to Cleveland. I would highly recommend this museum to anyone. It is huge, it takes a while if you would like to experience the entire museum. Give yourself plenty of time, pack a lunch and enjoy!!

“Excellent Art Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

The museum has a wonderful collection of classical and modern art in new spaces thanks to renovation and addition completed in 2013. This is my first choice to take visitors in my hometown! Plus it's free- amazing! Plan to spend the whole day here and eat lunch as well- delicious food, too.

“What a great find.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

A local couple told us to check it out. We took a cab up Martin Luther King Blvd. and we were glad we got to experience that also. There is a park dedicated EVERY country in the world. Sculptures, etc are on each space. People were having picnics, etc. What a great global experience. The museum has a great Byzantine Art section plus neat interactive exhibits. There were lots of families there enjoying themselves and the kids could touch and interact and were loving it. Yea art! And it was Free!
