“Nice lobby and location. Everything else, well......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

The first impression of this hotel as you drive by- "man, 1985 called and want's its hotel back.

The outside is not pretty. Its dirty, old, the windows are filthy, and basically it makes you second-guess your choice in hotels.

Then you step inside, and the lobby is glowing with what must have been a recent update.

Clean, polished, and roomy, the lobby looks like a bright Doubletree hotel.

The staff didnt disappoint either, they were super friendly and helpful.

So you think "OK, this might not be so bad."

Then you step into a filthy elevator. It whisks you up to your room, where you walk down an old and dimly lit hallway.

The rooms were not so bad. Beds are great, bathrooms clean, carpet was not stained or torn.

But the room was dark, and the windows dirty on the outside.

Oh and that elevator again- the hotel recommends only 7 people ride at a time. Heed this warning- 10 people were in our elevator and it got stuck for about 5 minutes with teh doors locked shut. Maintenance had to pry open the doors for us. Not fun.

The area: quiet, not many restaurants/bars nearby. The Rock Hall was easily within walking distance and we enjoyed our time there. The hotel does offer a shuttle that will take you around town for free, but we used a taxi. Parking garage is on site, as is a restaurant that we did not visit.

Overall it you have demanding tastes and high expectations, you may want to pass on this hotel. It's in need of some investment, and the room rates reflect that- you get what you pay for. As for our group, we would visit again.

Room Tip: The rooms face east and west, so lake views are limited throughout. Try to get a room on a lower lev...

This hotel has a great location right near the lake and within walking distance to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You can easily walk to the baseball stadium (about 20 mins) or even the football stadium but the hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle which is fantastic. Upon arrival you get delicious warm cookies which was REALLY nice after the 5 hour drive. The rooms were clean and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. There is a fee for parking but the parking is at least conveniently located right next to the hotel (which isn't always the case for downtown locations). After the ballgame we were exhausted and tried the room service - the food was good but overpriced. A tiny bottle of pop was $3...and I mean TINY. Overall though - nice place!

I'd be hard pressed to think of ways to improve my stay here. Heading the list of plusses is the staff - super friendly, helpful and always smiling. If you check in grumpy, you won't be grumpy for long. Great people!

Hotel is very nice and staff is very friendly and helpful. Shuttle is great for going back and forth to convention center. Room was clean. It was very humid during stay and air in central areas of hotel was not greatest along with elevators that were really slow.

We stayed here mostly due to its proximity to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Upon checking in, Burgandy explained everything to us including the parking and the current situation with the elevators. Parking is very convenient with unlimited in and out. However, we ended up walking to everything. If you don't want to walk, they have a shuttle that will bring you to any place local. That's a nice convenience. The driver was always asking people if they would like a ride to somewhere. He was quite a friendly guy.

The elevators are currently being upgraded so there are some wait times at the busy parts of the day. Be prepared for that until the upgrade is done.

The room was average, a bit smaller than what I am used to but it was spotless and everything worked. (Room 1600) As other posters noted, the outside of the windows are very dirty. It detracts a bit from the Hilton brand.

Good hotel, comfortable and clean! Good shuttle service to downtown while hotel is in walking distance to the congress center and science park. Breakfast is of medium variety, tastes good but a bit expensive considering the offered variety...
