I stayed at the Doubletree in Cleveland for a work trip. The lobby was very nice, as was the Starbucks inside the lobby. The room and bathroom were pretty small. The shower had pretty good water pressure. The staff was very accommodating. i wouldn't recommend staying here for a family or couple's trip.

I visited Cleveland for a two-day business trip in early November 2012. The check-in staff was friendly, and each person greeted us with a smile. The staff at breakfast the next morning was even friendlier. Melvin makes a great omelette and Jackie did a great job as our waitress.
Inside of the hotel is a Starbucks, not one of those half-Starbucks that only carries some of the menu items, but every seasonal coffee option as well as pastries and snacks.

Parking is $16/day with in and out privileges in a garage attached to the hotel. There was also a shuttle van parked in front of the hotel. I'm not sure where it takes passengers, but I'm guessing the airport, which is about a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

First the positives: breakfast is free and the hotel encourages recycling. The free shulttle is also nice. The lobby is pretty.

Negatives: The rooms are old. They tried to renovate, but they are still dark and slightly musty. I know that DoubleTrees are classic for it, but I like to have a bath tub and my room had only a shower. The hallways are clearly old and dated (were no renovated). The breakfast is low quality -- the hot items tasted terrible. Also, the location is kind of weak, especially in inclement weather, as it is on the lake and when it's cold or rainy, the wind is vicious. I'd take the shuttle every day, but I don't want to spend my per diem in tips when I can stay closer to my workplace and walk for free. Bottom line: I won't stay here again. I'll stick to the Hampton Inn or Marriott downtown.

Stayed here for four nights for business. The bed was comfortable and clean, which is key. The lobby was decent and the staff friendly. The decor in the halls and room was dark and dated, and some of the furniture in the room and in the halls were scratched up. My bathroom was pretty tiny and the tub didn't drain properly. The elevators were always extremely slow. One of the wheels on the desk chair had broken off prior to my stay, and it was just hanging out, waiting for someone to fix it. Breakfast was decent but could have been better stocked.
