I reserved a hotel room at the Radisson Cleveland online on 02-14-2014. Confirmation # FN24QTW. I called the hotel at 9:45 am on July 18th to add my guests name to the reservation in case she arrived before me. Even received an updated confirmation email with my guests name ... Then this happens
I live in Columbus, Ohio and was driving to Cleveland for a concert to celebrate my sister's graduation from Nursing School ...
Arrived at the hotel on July 18th at 5:30pm (hotel website states check in at 4:00) I was told at the front desk by employee Kaite Michaels, there were no rooms available at the hotel.
Employee stated there was a booking error & hotel was overbooked, it was a 1st come, 1st serve basis. Employee stated "a reservation does not guarantee a room" The employee handed me a piece of paper and stated I could take it to a hotel in Beechwood. Ohio (did not provide name) and that the Radisson had "rooms on hold" for their customers. They didn't even reserve a room in my name at a different hotel.
Manager, Melissa Martinez, stated there was nothing she could do for me, never apologized; they just expected me to go to Beechwood. Stated she couldn't provide transportation but she could reimburse me for a cab right after the fact. Its 19 miles to Beechwood from downtown Cleveland. But ultimately, we were responsible for the cost of the cab.
We had to change our clothes for the concert in their public restrooms. It was crazy!
We came back to the lobby to store our luggage, and there was an Arena Football team at the front desk .. THEY CHECKED RIGHT IN!!! After I was told there were no empty rooms available. The manager stated they checked in at 10am, HOW?!?
We came back to the front desk after the concert because we had no choice but to store our luggage until after the concert. Front desk employee Alex Gant was extremely rude about getting our and luggage and calling us transportation. At 11:37 pm, He stated he called a cab, we waited over an hour, went back to front desk, Alex stated he called a cab company, but they weren’t accepting any calls, he made ZERO attempted to contact another cab.
At 12:45am I was 6 Delta Airlines flight attendants check right in AGAIN. After I was told there were no rooms.
At 1:30am and still no cab, I ended up waiting for my car until from the Valet, and had to drive back to Columbus in the middle of the night. RIDICULOUS!
DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL OR your reservation at this hotel. They made no attempt to call their customers about the situation, even though my phone number and email were listed on the reservation. But I guess that meant NOTHING.
