“Exceptional service - the friendliest staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

What a wonderful stay! We traveled with another couple to Cleveland from London, Ontario, to do some sight seeing and visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Upon arrival at the Residence Inn, we learned that the parking lot at the hotel was full; it was no inconvenience, there was plenty of parking directly across the staff. When checking in, a wonderful woman working the front desk - whose name I regret I never got - upgraded our room to a suite at no additional cost due to the 'inconvenience.'
The suites are absolutely beautiful. My husband and I and the other couple each received our own room, bathroom, along with a kitchen, sitting and dining area, and a complimentary breakfast.
There is a recreational room on the main level with a pool table, and wonderful shops and restaurants near by.
The staff were exceptional - this trip has made us want to visit Cleveland again and stay at this hotel!
Thank you, Residence Inn!

The staff at the hotel were very friendly. The one bedroom was like an apartment! The building is over 100 years old, but well maintained. The breakfast area is beautiful and the free continental breakfast was very good. Just around the corner was a street (no cars) packed with numerous places to eat. Enjoyed both of the ones we ate at. There is also a comedy club. My wife and I went on a bus tour which was very enjoyable. The highlight was the Rock and Roll Home of Fame. We spent one day, but at least two days are needed.

It was a very enjoyable 2 days.

This was a WONDERFUL stay!!

The hotel itself is architecturally stunning .. the room height must have been over 15 feet high.

The room was twice the size of most hotel rooms, but the bathroom was much smaller, There was a dressing area with double closet and sink on the outside. The kitchen was complete with dishwasher (although we only used the fridge) and dishes/cutlery. Housekeeping was extremely thorough and everything was quite clean. The breakfast was great (there was even salsa/sour cream/onions for the scrambled eggs) and on Tues/Wed/Thurs evening there is a "managers reception" which eliminates the need for dinner elsewhere.

We walked to the R&R Hall of Fame both days ... about 15-20 minutes.

Walked to Tower Center (indoor mall) ... about 5-7 minutes.

We did Lolly the Trolley ... well worth it. (If you show them your room key BEFORE paying there was a little discount ... we found this out too late!)

We went to Zocallo's for guacamole ... delicious ... 1-2 min. walk.

We picked up pizza at Vincenzio's Pizza and Pasta ... very good ...(not open Sat/Sun ... and weekdays only until @630P) .... -1 min. walk.

The front desk staff was WONDERFUL ... always cheerful and upbeat ... would stay there again, without any hesitations.

We took a long weekend trip to Cleveland to take in a ball game and the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.

We were looking for a good location, and reasonable rates. The Residence Inn gives you a little extra space as well as full sized refrigerator and stove top. However, we did mostly eat at the excellent restaurants on Fourth Street (La Strada - excellent).

It is an older building but the rooms are very spacious and modern tv, etc.

ONLY downside is that the coffee is horrible. Take a filter and your own, or go to Lake Erie Shipping Company (?) on fourth street.

LOVED my stay at this hotel. I went with a friend for a girls weekend to check out the rock & roll hall of fame and we were SO happy with our choice. The hotel is half a block from East 4th with a ton of fantastic restaurants and only a couple blocks from tower city metro stop to and from the airport (2.25 each - saved us a ton of cash on cabs!) The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast selection was impressive, room was clean. No complaints!

My wife and I stayed at the Residence Inn in downtown Cleveland the last weekend of April 2011 while in town to watch the Indians take on the Tigers. The overall experience with the hotel was excellent. Their strongest attribute is their staff. All we encountered we friendly, polite, and extremely helpful. They answered all questions with a smile and made our stay very enjoyable. In fact, when my wife commented to one of the front desk staff that it was my birthday, they actually had ballons, a card, and a couple of beers delivered to the room while we were out free of charge.

The hotel is in a very good location and is within walking distance of many of the areas attractions and restaurants. Quicken Loans Arena is only a block away and Progressive Field is 2 blocks . Right around the corner is a pedestrian only avenue with several different restaurants of differing varieties. Depending on what you want to see while in town (and of course the time of year), you could possibly get by without needing your car for entire stay. Parking is $16 per night and an additional $8 if you want to remain in the structure after checkout to catch a ballgame.

The free breakfast was decent and and the choices varied from day to day. One day pancakes and turkey canadian bacon was available while another day had french toast and sausage patties. The eating area was fairly large, kept clean and never was overly crowded.

The only negatives were actually quite minor to me. The room size was a little small for what I was expecting. However, I have only ever stayed in one other Residence Inn so I may have just been spoiled with my previous stay. The eating penisula also doubled as the desk in this room. My previous experience actually had a seperate desk with internet hook up in the sleeping area. The room was still spacious and had more than enough space for my wife and I. Another negative was the aging window frames. They are wooden and the wood grain had begun to split significantly in our room. We were not getting any drafts from it but it was a little unsightly and is only bound to get worse over time. The last minor complaint would have to do with the dresser in our room. It didn't match the other pieces of furniture in the room in both appearance and quality. The drawers would stick with one another and the unit was rather wobbly. Still, none of these negatives were really enough to impact our stay.

If you are looking for a centrally located hotel with free breakfast, plenty of nearby entertainment options, comfortable rooms, and an incredibly courteous staff, then consider the Residence Inn Downtown Cleveland!

We stayed here for six nights with another couple in a two bedroom suite. Everything was great during our stay. It was like having our own apartment that someone else came in and cleaned up. We had the kitchen area so that we could have snacks and drinks, a table large enough to play cards on and room to stretch out. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very good and everyone enjoyed the ease of having the morning meal before taking off for sight-seeing and the gymnastics meets. We were there for two nights for the dinner snacks provided which really helped with the costs of the trip. The building is beautiful and all were glad to see that such an incredible place had been restored. We even took advantage of the pool tables for a couple of games one night!
