Downtown hotels everywhere can be pricey and this is no exception, but we were there for a wedding and got a discount. The registration desk is small, which leaves more room for the breakfast area and a morning spread that was a cut above (at least the morning we were there). Our room had a view down the street to the lake, the bathroom was spacious and the bed and pillows so very comfortable. True, there is no parking on-site, so you have to pay the $20 valet fee, but the hotel is close to a number of eateries and attractions and The Flats area is only 5-8 minutes driving time away. We expected to take a cab to Sammy's, but the doorman contacted a car service instead, which turned out to be very affordable and run by a young man who was personable and accommodating. The bar was open and well attended late into the evening. Warning: 2013 must be national construction year everywhere because orange barrel detours abound in Cleveland as well and you have to stay alert to navigate the detour signs.
