“Outstanding experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Hotel manager and staff were very helpful in helping us move to this hotel from a hotel that did not meet our expectations. We were in town to visit a relative that had just had an organ transplant at the Cleveland Clinic. Not knowing the city, we had booked a room at another hotel recommended on the clinic site, but were very uncomfortable at that location. We had originally tried to book a room at the Comfort Inn, but they did not have rooms for our entire stay. We went to the Comfort Inn and explained our situation. The front desk staff was very understanding of our situation. We were able to move to the Comfort Inn that day. The plan was for us to move to another Comfort Inn over the weekend, then back to the downtown location, but the next morning they called our room to tell us that they had had cancellations and we would be able to stay at that location. They checked with us several times during our stay to see if we we needed anything. There were reasonable laundry facilities for us and breakfast was good, providing many choices. This was not a vacation for us and the staff there seemed to realize our needs and felt compassion for our situation.

... which was to have a parking spot for the first Browns game and stay in town the night before. This may not have anything to do with the hotel, but I weighed prices & proximity to the stadium on other sites like Expedia before purchasing. Those sites all indicated this hotel was less than a mile from the stadium. But if you look up walking directions in Google, it's more like 1.5 miles. No biggie, just a bit misleading. The benefit of walking that far was not to have to fight traffic once we got to the car to head home. The hotel is right off the highway.

The room was clean which is my top requirement. The bath towels and duvet cover were a bit ratty, but those are cosmetic things.

The biggest thing I thought was a "fail" was that the coffee maker, coffee & tea WERE LOCATED IN THE BATHROOM. Yuck. You'd think this would be common sense not to have this in the same room (and a few feet away) from a toilet!

Glad I don't drink coffee. I do like tea, but didn't take my chances. I also didn't drink any tea with the free breakfast for fear of them using teabags that may have been stored in another room/bathroom.

My son and I stayed here on the Friday night of the Labour Day weekend as we were in Cleveland for the Browns game. I booked and received a discount for CAA (AAA) membership, so it was $98 plus tax and parking for a total of $129 for the 1 night. It is located a reasonable walk from the waterfront (Cleveland Browns Stadium, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Science Centre) and also to Progressive Field. "Complimentary" breakfast was decent with a great variety, including make your own waffles. Rooms were average, bathroom sink was slow to drain, overall the room showed some wear and tear. I think I would try something else next time, but the rate and location were good.

Staff was friendly and knowledgable. Room was clean but the air conditioner was NOISY. Parking was OK. Lot attendants accomodating.

Internet was good, Location was good for Indians stadium.
Breakfast has good sausage and waffles. Scrambled eggs needed improvement.

For the money and the length of time we were in the room, the stay was more than adequate.

This hotel is very convenient to the baseball stadium, which is why we chose it. The bed was comfortable, but a number of little things made the stay less than great. The parking situation is confusing (we ended up in a dungeon-like underground lot), the breakfast was not good even for a standard hotel breakfast, the room was obviously dated, and the air conditioner cooled only the part of the room directly in front of the unit. I would choose a different hotel in the area if we go back again for a game.

Stayed here for the Yankees weekend Aug. 25-26. Actually I think the whole hotel was booked with Yankee fans. The hotel I think was a bit better than average, nice, clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff especially the daytime parking attendant who let us basically "tailgate" in the parking lot while we were waiting for another guest to arrive, as we arrived late morning and we knew our rooms would not be ready. The front desk did give us our parking passes so we didn't have to pay any extra parking fees for arriving early. Very friendly front desk staff. Free breakfast buffett was good. The hotel is close walking distance to ballpark, 4th street district & casino. Felt very safe walking to and from places at all hours of the day & late night. Overall weekend stay was ...great.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The personnel at the reception was very helpful in giving us directions. We knew we were to pay $7.50 per night for parking. The rooms are clean but a bit dated. But we only sleep there. The bathroom is small but we had hot water and good pressure.
There are adjacent doors on each side (I presume for the cleaning person to walk through). I do not think they are very insulated as we heard at 2am the first night some women arriving in their room laughing and talking very loud. Not very courteous.. I actually thought they were in our room. When they finally stopped talking, we fell back to sleep. The air conditioning makes funny noise but we got used to it. The pillows are not very comfortable.
The breakfast is ok. Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles, muffins.. The 2 ladies work very hard to keep the coffee pot always full and food in the trays.
This hotel, even if it is not downtown is walking distance to Progressive Field, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, downtown Cleveland. The people in Cleveland are very nice and helpful. I was really impressed.
I think the people should encourage tourists to do more walking and use the public transport, as we love walking while on vacation (it makes up for the big meals we take). There are FREE shuttles that can take you in different parts of Cleveland.
We had a great stay and would go back there again.
