We stayed in Cabin #6. I was ready to buy this from Donna. We live about an hour away and thought that this would be a perfect vacation cabin to own for all seasons! We fell in love with the town and it's citizens. Everyone was very friendly and everywhere we ate had a good home cooked meal. Speaking of food, you must order the breakfast that gets delivered in a basket, right on time, to your room. It's an even $ 10.00 a person and worth it! It was exactly what we ordered, hot and delicious......and we didn't have to leave our cabin!
The cabin was roomy and exceptionally clean! It has a big wooden swing on the front porch, but we didn't get to use it, as it was 9 degrees the whole weekend we were there. It also had an outside cooker that would come in handy on a much warmer day.......say at least 30 degrees. Tee! Hee! On the main floor was a fun mid size pool table, a love seat, sofa with a blanket and fluffy pillows. It had a big screen TV with DVD player, a small stereo with speakers, a beautiful stone fireplace and a bar/countertop base (also made of stone) to eat at with two log chairs. I believe the bar/countertop and the kitchen countertops were made of granite. It had a mid size refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, full size kitchen stove with oven and a big sink. Also it had lots of pots and pans and dishes with silverware. It had dish detergent, sponge and everything you would need to cook a meal and clean up afterwards, just like at home, all you need are groceries and you're good to go! The bathroom was nice size with a cute little octagon window. It had a large shower only (with built in seats) which we like over a tub, and plenty of counter space on the sink vanity for makeup and hot rollers to spread out. The towels and wash cloths were soooooo fluffy and soft! I don't know if they did this on purpose or if it was just a fluke but the heat register in the bathroom is strategically located right below the towel rack so when I grabbed my towel after my shower, it was toasty warm! How cool is that!!!
Upstairs in the loft that overlooks the downstairs was the most comfortable king size bed I've ever slept in, that is if you like a bed soft and not stiff. Each of us had a night stand which hotels don't always give you.....nice! Across from the bed was a TV and a log rocking chair with ottoman plus a heart shaped jacuzzi tub for two. We didn't use it though because we own a jacuzzi tub at home and we don't ever use it. We like showers.
I'm sorry that I didn't take the time to remember the name of the lady who cleaned our cabin and the name of the lady who made and delivered our breakfast, as they deserve a great big Thank You for all of their hard work to make our stay comfortable. I know what they do and how hard they work, as I was a former Hotel maid when I was 20 yrs. old.
A few big tips for future customers:
Be careful on how long you use the fireplace. We spent a lot of our time downstairs during the day and never turned it off, so when we went to bed, it was sooooo hot up there we had to have the overhead ceiling fan above our bed on for a while to cool it down......I guess we forgot about heat rising. Oops!
Also if you are middle aged like we are and you get up a few times during the night to pee.......don't laugh, you will be old someday too!.........let us inform you that there is no toilet up in the loft. I wish we would've known that before making reservations on short notice, we would've got a chalet where everything is on one floor. Once you go up and down the stairs you seem to be wide awake and we had a hard time going back to sleep.
There is no Internet.......we forgot to ask....not that we needed it, it's just something we assume all hotels have and very little reception on our cell phones. Again, not the end of the world, we just thought it might matter to other people.
One last thing that we really liked was the fact that we had our own private parking space right in front of our cabin where our new car wouldn't get dinged by other cars, it was lit up well by our own street lamp and the cabin had plenty of windows to look out at it as far as it's safety and security.
So..........Donna......is this Cabin for sale? Tee! hee!
