“A Touch of History In Amish Country Ohio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

We try to visit the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center every time we come to Berlin. The Cyclorama and the History of the Martyrs is breathtaking. Everytime we come there is someone new and a little nugget of History that touches our lives.

“The Place to Start”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

This is the first place to go as you visit this area. Not a tourist trap, this is the real deal, informative and with a good gift shop. Very nice people that you can visit with if they're not too busy.

“The place to learn about Amish and Mennonites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

The Heritage Center is located just outside Berlin and is the place to learn about the Amish and Mennonites. The Center has the Cyclorama which took 7-8 years to paint, a gift store with a few samples of Amish quilts and a few displays outside. There is a short film describing their lifestyle in Holmes County.

The Cyclorama is worth the price of admission. The guided tour shows the founders of the Mennonites and the Amish and how they came to existence. There is brief mention of the founder of the Hutterites. This should be the first stop on a visit to Ohio's Amish country.

“Very Educational - a must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

The staff is very helpful. There is a small fee to see the mural. The mural tells how the Amish and Mennonite were established and how they came to Ohio plus much more. It takes about 35 minutes for the guide to explain this massive painting. And that's a short version. It is so beautiful. Well worth the small fee. My 10 year old daughter enjoyed the mural also. So the tour is for all ages. The Heritage Center is a must for those wanting to learn about the Amish and Mennonite History and Culture.
